This times a lot. The only system I’ve owned that I can honestly say have very few games to offer was the N64, and even then those few were classics, and made the system worth it.
My two cents: this happens all the time. Be upset and kick up dust all you want but end of the day, Bayonetta 2 is Wii-U exclusive until further notice, and that’s far better than “Bayonetta 2 will never see release.”
He has a very good point about Nintendo’s past, which I see the butt hurt crowd has yet to address:rofl:
That being said as right as he is he isn’t taking into account that not everyone will be able to afford more than 1 console, especially in this recovering economy, and that while it is likely Bayonetta2 would have never been made without Nintendo stepping up it is not definitive fact, and so can’t be assumed to be the case.
:wtf: Sees join date…Okay, that explains it all.
Anyone who appreciates the depth of Bayonetta’s combat system especially SRK folk has probably been playing games long enough to remember the good ol days when quality platformers ruled the medium. The Rayman franchise especially, after the release of Rayman: Origins has been synonymous with quality platforming so you will have a hard time finding Bayonetta fans especially on SRK that wouldn’t be the slightest bit interested in Rayman: Legends. I can’t prove it but it stands to reason a lot of people who own Bayonetta also own Rayman: Origins, there is a reason for that. Yes Rayman games have more universal appeal than Bayonetta does but that is a genre restriction not reflective of one franchise being “hardcore” while the other being solely a “casual” affair.
I feel gross for sing the term “hardcore”, see what you made me do 12’er?
Speaking of the N-deomogaphic…north american parents are ok with little Aiden, Micah, and Taylor blowing away nazis…but Bayonetta deals with religious aspects. If she still works for the forces of hell (never finished part 1, still grinding to unlock Sai Fong). or even if she works for the forces of heaven now, games with religious overtones make soccer moms uncomfortable. If B2 is as in your face with it as the first one was, coupled with the overt sexuality, parents will shit blood and belch fire. This game could cause some lawsuits. Or one class-action.
Judge: Didn’t you read the age rating?
Parents: It’s a NINTENDO system, it’s for kids!! When did they start doing grown-up games on there?!
What is your point other than asserting some kind of imaginary dominance? It is obvious that Rayman and Bayonetta are in two different genres. Perhaps you misinterpreted the reason of my post somehow, I was expressing that the Wii U has and will have more quality games to enjoy, regardless of what style or genre, games that aren’t just for casuals and kids.
Nintendo seems to be trying to extend their appeal beyond the kiddies who usually play their consoles, and give a reason for people like you and me to buy their system. This is perhaps why they (probably) picked up Bayonetta 2 and made it exclusive. My point is that it is silly to hate on Nintendo for trying to give some variety to their library of games and appeal to a broader range of consumers.
I say we all just wait to see if this is another Gamecube Gambit. If they have developers doing tri-system multiplats with their upcoming serious games, then ok. But if this is some shit where each third party ports all their kids titles, and just one of their serious titles from each genre like they did on gamecube (don’t bring up the re gamecube games: n threw big money at them to get more than just REmake. I’m talking about devs doing it like with sony and murkyousoftly, not cutting special deals with nintendo like in the past), then jumps ship, no dice. Just wait quietly and see where this goes.
It was the disc format. Not being on a CD made it a bit more pricey for developers to produce games, and as such, GC got shafted in the multiplatform title department. Even though the Gamecube was technically far more capable than the Xbox and Playstation 2, it only got love from companies looking to experiment with risky new IPs or reboots(Viewtiful Joe, RE4, MGS:Twin Snakes, etc.) or got stuck with family friendly shovelware(all those shitty THQ Nicktoons tie-ins).
There are gems on GC, but nowhere near the dearth of titles that the other consoles got.
Nintendo fucked up like they did with the N64 in terms of storage, so while the GC was stronger then the PS2, its normal storage per priority disc Nintendo commissioned was less then half of that of the DVDs for the PS2 and XBOX. So larger games had to either be split between different discs (i.e. Resident Evil 4 or Tales of Symphonia) or compressed to be ported onto the GC and such more expensive for publishers.
Just got Bayonetta NAH Mean and DAYUM MY NIGGUH! Niggas is getting fucked up!
DIS SHIT HARD AS HELL MY NIGGUH!
Nikka’s be buttin’ mashin’. Feeling like that first time you ever played SF and shit.
AND THIS IS ONLY NORMAL DIFFICULTY 0_0
cough
Ahem, I quite enjoy Bayonneta. I can see why it is praised so much. I have never played a hack n slash deeper. If DMC 3 was like LeBron James. This game is the hellspawn of LeBron James and Serena Williams mating on HGH.
