This. SO this. Putting a certain type game on a console whose base generally does not play said type of game equals shit sales. Case in point, the neo geo games exclusive to 360…ps3 owners would have snatched them up in droves, regardless of bad netcode, but snk chose to shit on ps3 players in favor of a group that shit on them in return for the huge boon they were offered. The majority of exclusively 360 owners tried a couple titles (fighting games not being their thing, after all lol), and dropped them. (Disclaimer: that was mostly a joke. Not saying that there are no fighting game fans on xbox…there are…they just made the wrong/more-easily-affordable-in-the-short-term choice. lol/jk…mostly). Anywho, this is exactly what will happen on wiiu: kids want Mario and Link. They try to play this game, and it’ll be back at Gamestop in the used bin in under a month while the next 16 rehashed and graphically updated Mario and Zeldas (looks like N has turned their back on Starfox) find permanent homes in the home of the wiiu owner.
No one would have bought SNK games on PS3 if they had shit netcode. You’re fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

Fuck, don’t kid yourself. Classic that are under $15 and are good, even without netplay? I and many others would’ve. After all, we bought Kof 2k2 + Kof 2k3 collection, KofXi, Kof98 um, NGBC, and Samurai Shodown Collection, even if we didn’t have anybody local who played fighting games. To finally have the chance to play kof 2k2um without importing, modding, or having to buy something that will inevitably stop working due to shoddy construction and having to pay AGAIN for internet access…hell yeah. If netcode’s broke, fuck it, there’s always single player…which is how most of the snk fans from the old school in the hood had to do. You want to play kof 98, but these niggas wanna play Madden? You play alone. At the arcade, you wanna play FF2, trying to nail the sdms, but everybody’s playing shitty X-men COTA? Fuck them, play alone. Playing pre-kofxii snk games in single player mode more than vs mode is hardly a new thing to snk fans, and to those who say it is: your ass is spoiled.

Gamecube was awesome. I have all the RE games, Eternal Darkness, MGS remake, Zelda and Mario games. There’s a bunch of games I’d get for it too.
Wii/Wii U are all about dem exclusive 1st-party Nintendo titles for the most part. If you want a Nintendo system with a crazy amount of third party support, you buy a DS. There’s a shitload of games I want for my DS on top of what I already own.
You’re implying that the audience who’d play Rayman Legends and Monster Hunter will bleed over into the one that plays Bayonetta.
Also you’re seriously asking “LOL WHY’S PEOPLE MAD ABOUT HAVING TO DROP $350 JUST FOR A SINGLE GAME THEY WANT”. Obviously the people who want Bayonetta 2 don’t want or care for any of the other stuff on the system, otherwise they’d have bought the system already and wouldn’t be complaining. Rayman and MH3 don’t generate much interest for people who play hardcore action games like Bayonetta, so it makes no sense for them to buy a new system just for one game they want. Even if the Wii U had lots of great games (it doesn’t), it’s not just about the amount of games but also the myriad different TYPES of games. Bayonetta 2 is an extreme rarity on a Nintendo system. It’s not like the 360 and PS3, which both have tons of M-rated action titles. This is why Bayonetta’s audience is on those systems to begin with.

Sonichuman is right a Bayonetta sequel deserves a better thread then this one. Hopefully when the game is actually released, everyone who is upset about it being Nintendo exclusive will be tired of complaining about it and a new thread gets made focused more on the game itself then the platform or its publisher.
