i hope bayonetta 2 doesnt suffer from typical sequel syndrome. kamiya and yusuke, do this right. bring back EVERYTHING FROM BAYONETTA 1 weapon wise, combos, abilities, items, and just add new shit to old weapons, and bring in new weapons, items, and abilities. like, i really dont want to have to play bayonetta 1 again just to experience a weapon or ability i loved. id rather play bayonetta 1 again post bayonetta 2 because its dope as fuck and still worth it for the things it offers, and if i never play it again post bayonetta 2 because bayo 2 gives me everything i need, thats dope too. just dont take away great shit, its not necessary.
the more the options the better. at least give me that in bayonetta 2. in 3 feel free to restart things fresh a bit, and if you want the experience from previous bayo’s, you have to just go cop the old joints. but the dopeness of bayonetta 1’s everything is still fresh in my head, and i want it to continue on, with shit just added on top.
porting over stuff? theyre still making the game on a pc in windows, then porting it to the wiiU. same shit they did in bayonetta 1. transferring the old weapons and abilities from bayo 1 to 2 shouldnt be that time consuming at all considering their already created, the combos are already there, and the balance has already been done. the only thing they could chose to do if they want would be to give those old weapons new abilities, but they dont have to. at the very least i just want them to come back, but by all means bring in more weapons and abilities, i would just like for once a sequel to just stack great shit on top of great shit, rather then start recreating again and leaving great shit behind.
im not asking them to recreate the light saber, but if they wanna keep it fresh just give it 1 or 2 new abilities real quick, and keep it moving. i find nothing more annoying then to play a sequel to something and be like, ugh, this would be so dope if i had this weapon/ability for this fight, then i get angry wondering why i dont have it, but i have all these shitty new weapons that are garbage (insert dante dmc4).
but yeah, i doubt bringing over a lot of the old, revamping it a little, and adding tons of more new would take up that much time because all that old shit is already fairly balanced, and the rebalancing and adjustments for the new game would not likely be that large of a task that a couple people on the team couldnt handle, while others create and balance new weapons, items, and abilities.
i dont want yusuke to make the mistake of going out with the old, in with the new, when the old shit was still hot
Loved the first game so I’ll definitely buy a Wii U just for this. Not right away though. Maybe in 2013 or so. Definitely after I play DmC, and possibly after I import Project x Zone. Dante fix comes first, even if it’s only Donte in DmC.
What about those of us who don’t care about the Wii U, and don’t want to invest in yet another gimmick-ridden Nintendo console that won’t take the gaming community seriously, and whose lifespan will peter out after a mere 2-3 years like the previous one did?
Was hoping that much like past Nintendo “exclusives”, such as Resident Evil 4 and the Viewtiful Joe games, that this one would eventually wind up on other consoles. However, from what i’ve read with Nintendo helping to finance its creation and publishing it themselves, this most likely won’t be the case.
Shame as the first game was pretty awesome, despite the title character being a bit goofy at times.
Not trying to start any console wars stuff but I just don’t understand this mentality.
The game that you want to play should be more important than the console you play it on.
I can understand the argument of not being able to afford a certain console but you don’t have to “care” about a console to play the game(s) you like on it, even if the WiiU collects dust after that, at least you will have played Bayonetta 2, the sequel of a good game.
As much as I don’t like exclusives and prefer when games are multiplatform, if there is an exclusive I want, money is the only obstacle for me.
This is why I’m STILL planning on getting one of the recent Halo games, ever since I’ve played the first one on PC, even though I don’t like the fact that you have to pay to play online on XBL, and I believe it should be the same for Bayonetta fans that do not like the WiiU for XYZ reasons.
I swore to not post in this thread anymore, but this needed to be addressed. How much did Viewtiful Joe sell? Or Okami? I don’t have the numbers, but I recall it not selling all that well… RE 4 I’ll give you because, well, it’s RE 4, but almost anytime an exclusive game goes multi-platform, it almost never sells worth a shit. No More Heroes didn’t sell worth a damn either after going multi-platform.
The entire reason Platinum Games has teamed with Nintendo(hell, the entire reason Platinum even exists) is because no one buys their games regardless of what console they’re on. All this false outrage and statements of betrayal or whatever other butt-hurt, tear-filled ramblings people are going on about need to stop.** Now**. This company merely wants to make good games and they have partnered with a company that allows them to do just that.
The majority of the people complaining DON’T EVEN BUY Platinum Games titles. This is fact. If the majority of all these so-called ‘fans’ actually went out and bought Bayonetta/Vanquish/Madword/God Hand/Viewtiful Joe/Okami/insert awesome game here, instead of CallofDuty/Madden/Capcom cash-in#2356, Platinum would still be called Clover and would still be making games under the Capcom umbrella. But they don’t, so here we are.
So if you all wanna hate something, hate your so-called ‘gamer community’ for shunning actual good products in favor of rehased, safe, lame ass sequel shit over and over and over as well as the corporate shills who sell out to this lowest common denominator mentality. These are the people that are “ruining gaming,” not the people that made the Wii. Stop this shit and get over yourselves.
Not to get in an argument either but…you make it sound like buying a whole system is no big deal just to get one game. Wii’s library was harsh. 99% of the titles i drooled over for the other consoles(Ken’s Rage, Batman, Transformers, DD Neon, UMVC3, Skyrim, etc) never saw a Wii release. Had I bought a Wii it would have been a bad investment and…
… “I want my money’s worth!”- JCVD, Expendables 2.
Time will tell whether Nintendo will get its act together and not continue to miss out on so much quality 3rd party software, but it does not look too good.
I’m just saying that’s not how code works. You can’t take code from here, drop it here and it call it a day. They have to make it work with the new code and that takes time, time that could be spent on new things. If they have the time to port them over that’s cool but I’d rather they focus that time on giving me new stuff. I can always play Bayonetta 1 again if I wanna use Bazillions or something. If they do bring some back I’d be happy with just a few…like Shuraba or something. We don’t need the whole suite (tho it would indeed be sweet)
I wonder what cameo levels will be in Bayonetta 2. Most people hated the After Burner and Hang On levels but I adored them TBH, shoutouts to Yu Suzuki! Nintendo has a lot of good IP’s so I’m curious to see what they choose for this game and how it will affect gameplay. The one thing I loved about Bayonetta is the Heaven like atmosphere. DMC,GoW and Ninja Gaiden for the most part stick to the action game status quo but damn Bayo was gorgeous even on the choppy PS3 port lol.
If the Hang On level was a little shorter i wouldn;t have a problem with it but after the two verses my hands start to hurt. Also sucks you have to play through it to fight Jeanne 3. Otherwise I love it. I liked the Outrun inspired stages more tho.
Stoked to see what Nintendo type references he sticks in the game.
If I was Kamiya I’d make sure to include a couple of references to Starfox in some manner just to lay it even more thicker that that’s the series he’d like to do.
No I got my wires crossed. The Hang On Level is the ones I do like (The outrun music is what got me on that line of thinking, Magical Sound Shower yo!) The Planet Harrier one is the level I don’t like that much due to length.
Space Harrier people, space harrier. Planet harrier is the sequel…but this game is referencing space harrier. No wonder most people didn’t like it, they don’t really have love for those games…but I do!
