From what I read - and by NO means am I going to pretend like it’s the law or anything - but it does…make some sense - we won’t get a Planet Hulk and the ilk anytime soon. Hulk will go down the direction of “The Indestructible Hulk”. It won’t be a full on Banner & Hulk are friendzoned direction, but Banner will be working with Stark ad Shield (har), and the events of Cap A would play into why its ‘far off and not even really on the radar’. Face it, there just is no ‘reason’ to a Hulk movie, he’s fought Abomination, he’s had his origin story…twice actually. All that’s left is Red Hulk before you get into things that might be ‘just a bit too comic-booky’.
Honestly, while there has been alot of talk about the hand to hand combat - ALL the action sequences were pretty spot on. The ONLY sequence in the whole movie that felt like a moment from Transporter 3 - was when Cap was on the motorcycle against the aircraft. Outside of that though, you felt all the blows (I lurched when Cap jumped through that window and fell), everything was super fast, but not so fast that you couldn’t track it, and best of all - it treaded that line of reality vs comic book. It felt grounded in reality - but by the distance bodies would go, it was obviously not reality haha…CapA treated that shit like Battletoads, everything flew off screen.
Also, I feel like hte big difference between this one and the first one…and even Avengers - CapA actually seemed like a superhero. I’ve NEVER had an appreciation for Cap, in a world filled with Magnetos and Hulks, a guy with a shield who can jump a little higher aint special, but this movie puts that notion on blast.
And kudos to the design team for Winter soldier’s arm…very well done.
After having seen the movie, I kind of can’t believe I didn’t know who the Winter Soldier actually was way before seeing the reveal.
Scarlet Witch was in there? Not sure how I missed that.
Also, the Nick Fury chase scene was legendary. One of the best scenes I’ve seen in a Marvel movie period. But I knew the whole movie that that nigga wasn’t going to actually stay dead. Fury never dies…that dude is almost more broken than Magneto.
Also, dat knife fight Cap and the Winter Soldier had was too dope.
Seriously, how many movies will it take for people to remember “Hey, there are scenes after the damn credits!” Do they have to mention it in the movie itself?
And yeah, GotG and Avengers 2 are all that’s left, hence why they’re shooting A2 now.
I think Marvel is just throwing a curveball cuz now they have TWO extra scenes after the credits…now people just walk out after the first one ends (which is probably better since the second one is usually some random shit going on).
Hmm, Phase 2 ‘felt’ like it was going to be ‘longer’. Maybe just the wait for ‘epicness’ looks more daunting than it really has been. I just keep hearing ‘oh Marvel has movies planned from now till 2028’ and shit like that, but I haven’t heard anything ‘nearly’ official outside of GoG which I think is only a month or so away, no actual Summer movie, and then Av2 NEXT Summer. They hit us with three movies within about a year - or maybe 4 - and then go on a break to give Av2 a full year to breathe with no mention of what’s after that. I’d expect things to be out there at this point I guess about the ‘plan’ for Phase 3.
