Come back with that argument when 9 out of 10 cartons of ice cream are Neapolitan.
Sorry that the dev teams decided to give a damn and created more lively, vibrant backgrounds. I thought that was a good thing. You ever seen their HNK game? Have you seen Shin’s or even better Souther’s stage? If you like HNK and you saw Souther’s stage you’ll notice that it’s the same place where Souther made Shu walk up those steps. Dunno about you but that’s a nice touch.
You have so many stages in other FGs that it make you wonder “WTF… why am I here?” ASW stages are more like “Hey, this is MY place.” They stand out from each other. You get a solid representation of the character.
I agree with DHEvil.
not quite what i was getting at.
the point is, you cant remake vanilla any better than it is.
so eat vanilla if you dont like neapolitan.
complaining about how much you dislike neapolitan, in a half assed thread about neapolitan, seems completely pointless.
i gave this game a chance, didnt last long. still gets some training mode play when im feeling masochistic however.
I want to see more fresh fighters that fit the classic mould that games like Street Fighter, King of Fighters and even Tekken created. I’m not seeing very many fresh new ideas on this end. Every new fighter out of Japan is just another shallow eye candy combofest.
That just might be the fighting genre being so niche, though. I’m just bitter.
the people who only see the new games as combo fest usually dont play the new games well, if you only see combos on gg or ah for example, without noticing the other stuff like spacing, zoning, footsies that is happening, so that is not the problem of the game, is yours.
the “classic mould” of games like sf born from the limits of the hardware of that time, the only reason why they still develop sf like that is because people that are affraid to the change from both sides the devs and the players.
you said that you want new games with fresh ideas, yet you want games like the old ones, i dont get it; GG is a game with great new ideas, and im more than sure that you never played it because is not a sf like game or because is a “combo fest”, without seeing what it has to offer.
BF was a game like sf and what happened, it got ignored by the fighting game community, KOF XII was a good game very solid, and what happened it got ignored too (but i cant blame it too much considering the quality of the netcode), what does it show us, that the only “classic style” game that does good at the end is SF, people says that like “classic style games” but the truth is that they only care about SF at the end.
give us a favor, and stop posting, if you dont like it, fine, but dont come here posting “your opinion” about what you feel that is bad with the games, when thats some of the reasons why we like them, cuz the devs wanted to give us more than a simple game with average to mediocre stuff happening on the screen or recycling every damn animation of the characters on every damn special or super.
Everytime someone assumes something about me they are completely wrong. I main(ed) Potemkin and dabbled in Ky Kiske for the admittedly short stint I played GGAC. I hated it. And KOFXII was shit.
Other than that I don’t really know what you’re trying to say. You can have fresh ideas without being an orgy of bright colours and laser effects. If anything it’s games like the ones this thread are about that are getting stale and overdone.
the fact that you played it doesnt mean that you played it well, i bet that you were and still are incredible scrubish at GG and thats why you hate it
Yes, I’m horrible at GG, as I admitted I only played it for a month tops, but I loved Street Fighter and Tekken when I was bad at them too. I’m just saying I don’t like the style and direction of games like GG, MvC and the Arcana Hearts of the world, and that there aren’t enough old school style fighters any more (I know MvC is actually fairly old school but it’s at least similar to many of the newer fighters, and I do not like it sir).
I used to be a hardcore FPS fanatic when games like Doom, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Serious Sam and the like were the norm, but now they’re all Modern Warfare, Halo and WWII shit. So I dropped FPS games simply because the style shifted. And in many ways fighters are now doing that. In the same way that old school shooters are dead/dying, I’m getting the feeling that, aside from Street Fighter, old school fighters are on the way out too. I’m just salty about it. Whether or not I’m any good at the games has little relevance.
This discussion is getting thin. If you don’t mind I’d like to just leave it there.
This is by far the most doomed fighting game ever, at least you can play Big Bang Beat and MKV for teh lulz…
I think I saw a trailer for this game played at SBO via the internet stream some years ago, and it looked amazing.
Sad to hear it turned out so broke.
you know that the number of “sf clones” are more than the “gg clones” by a wide margin
I would definitely agree with you because too me most of new generation fighting games that came out this year are just boring and don’t feel very balanced (at least in my opinion).I guess you just have to keep playing with the right people.
is there list of basic combos for maeda and sanada ?
I have no taste because i don’t accept shitty game design.
The game was promisiing on the paper … but people dropped it as soon as the first infinite (which was Kenshin’s taunt one) was found. We only had one ranking battle in France on the game, and there were like 7/8 guys who entered … Once again, ASW screwed up with their mechanics.
Oh and while I’m here, I will upload again the BKO site at the following URL in few days : http://www.vsfclub.com/bko
hey pharaon, by any chance, do you still have the info of the forums?
i kinda miss doing keiji combos in training mode, i swear i saved a ton of information from that forum… just cant seem to find it.
Well, I still have some info but it’s the translated version in French.
You can already visit the old basarako site here : http://basara.vsfclub.com/
I’m gathering stuff and I’ll update the entire site soon.
