Oh, another Guile improvement: increased walk speed would be nice, better footsies, zoning, anti-air, etc.

I would like the LK flash kick behave a bit like Balrogs head but. If he connects with that he should be able to land the FK Ultra.
I want to be able to FADC a Flash Kick and then catch them in the air with the back breaker. That would be EPIC.
EX Sonic Boom Should Knock Down.
Up the damage on his Ultra. If it connects on the ground we should get the full animation, if it connects in the air it should multi hit like Ken’s.

The LK flash kick would have to have a short recovery and they’d need to change the ultra motion though. I have a feeling Guile’s sonic hurricane will be similar to Balrog/Bison’s Ultra, so I hope FK’s traded FK’s can lead to Sonic Hurricane.
Fix the damn flash kick. Where is the logic of making this move worse than a dragon punch and more dangerous to perform since you have to charge it? It should be a move to be feared like it used to be. IF someone does this move and in the air…90-95% of the time it shouldnt trade with anything.

It would make it easier to link Flash Kick, into another Flash kick…

Give him Sonic Hurricane for Ultra. Flash Kick FADC Sonic Hurricane = he at least now has a comeback option.

Flash Kick has to be improved somehow. Better hitbox? A few more invincibility frames? It needs a good balance of those two things to be good again, but not become broken by giving Guile an immunity to cross-ups and the ability to waltz through any move.

Gilley posted a great writeup in the Guile section and I definitely agree with what he has to say about Sonic Booms;
Dunno if the slow EX booms could become broken though.
- Ultra: Flash Explosion needs to combo for full hits/damage regardless of the opponent being in the air or on the ground. Damage should increase too, right now it’s one of the weaker Ultras on top of being hard to land.
If the rumors about two Ultras are true, I would like Flash Explosion to remain a punishment move that’s still hard to land and Sonic Hurricane as a less damaging, more versatile option that you can easily combo into.

Honestly, I think guile is pretty well balanced as is. His sonic boom recovery is super fast, his ex boom and flash are very good to punish, he has good priority normals, and he has a good air throw. The only thing really weak is his flash kick. If that were bufffed, he would be almost too good.

I have played countless hours of guile on xbox live, been playing him in variations of street fighter for 10 years…ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE! he needs more, i feel like he is the old dog who cant learn new tricks. I am sure capcom is working on him, but one or two things i know would make him a better character.
*His ultra/super is the hardest move in the the game! Yes i can pull it off, but not as consistant as any other character. It is much easier for me to pull the move of while he is on the right side of the oppenent. As an old school player, i only played with arcade sticks, and if you think about it, it is easier to move quickly and with force when the arm/hand is moving away from the body, slower and weaker when moving toward yourself. when doing the ultra/super on the left side, there is a lot more planning involved, and this seems to be a problem with other guile players i know (compare to how easy ryu, ken, balrog, blanka has it). To me this seems to be a badly designed motion to initate a move.
SOLUTION
get rid of the up-diagnal motion at the end of the move, the new motions should look like this. (Similar to balrog, but while crouching) >crouch back while Charging, then crouch forward, crouch back, and crouch forward. you create that back forth motion that balrog has but while crouching, and be able to work that in to a combo.
I am sure there is lot of thinking going on at capcom, but please make change if not a better one!!!
- No point in comboing his super, EXes are way more useful
- Learn 2 execute
- Use his sonic hurricane ultra instead
- If anything it’s easier on a stick than it is on pad, end it on 7 instead of 9
I am terrible with charge players but I find Guile’s Ultra to be the easiest of the whole cast. Once you know the motion it can not go wrong like Ryu’s ultra that sometimes comes out as SRK.
Guile’s Ultra/Super needs to do a little more damage.
As long as Capcom gives him some way to link into his ultra, then I will be fine.
How about a diagonal sonic boom or a horizontal flash kick? These moves seem more probable and fit his set.
Guile needs his ST flash kick. The hitbox and the direction he goes up from the floor needs to be tweaked. I think it’s also very unsafe too isn’t it? The overhead MP was a great touch. Most of his normals seem pretty good already. Maybe just tweak a bit on the frame disadvantage and give his upside down RH better hit box or speed.
I’d like to see the animation on his super lame FA changed.
either buff his existing moves or give him more life.

and for the people that want some sort of juggle…why not make his c.HP pop you up like Remy’s in 3s does?
