Capcom need to step their game up in terms of presentation

They’re pretty much getting outdone by everyone in terms of everything that’s not the actual ‘game’. Graphics, music, presentation, UI design (good god Capcom UX is the pits) and features are all frequently inferior to what the likes of Namco/Netherealm et al are currently doing. Poverty training modes, technically weak visuals, sparse/pointless features, janky animation, ugly and frustrating menus/matchmaking, ill-conceived character customisations.

What happened Capcom?

This happened.

Then this happened.

Now they’re depressed.

I enjoy SFxT but there’s no doubt it’s absolutely bottom of the barrel when it comes to presentation. Especially when compared to the likes of TTT2.

Capcom has always been slow to innovate and change how things are done. I mean my God, look at how they still use the archaic way to do button configs. God awful.

I can’t even reset the training dummy in TTT2.

Get the fuck out with this bullshit.

SFxT was badly presented. It was just too neon. Everything was too frantic and badly made. I’m scared SF5 is going to follow suit when it’s announced.

SFxT had to be the most disappointing FG this generation. No qualms.

I agree with OP. Whilst I prefer the gameplay of SF, and I even like the graphics, BB is streets ahead with training mode options, matchmaking options, music etc. Even basic things such as selecting P1 or P2 side for arcade mode and training mode is so helpful, really helped me train my weaker side.
I’m constantly training in SF and wishing I had BBs options.
I wish they could patch that.

The crimes committed by these companies… are robbing humanity of its future. Eventually, they will destroy the entire planet. Undated games, and day 1 patches, as well, were waged to hide their crimes. Anti Capcom stands against them, fighting now to purge those sins. it is too late for compromises. Sacrifices must be made. The price we all must pay will be great. Atonement shall not be easy. The blame lies with all of us.

Did you not watch/play MK9 …at all? Get mad at capcom for being retarded but they have never reached NRS levels. NEVER. Look at that list again and tell me that you aren’t complaining about MK9? They managed to fuck up button mapping worse than capcom.

MK9 did have some pretty obnoxious stuff granted (the online matchmaking ‘rooms’ were comically bad) but I used them as an example mainly for their visuals (artistic style aside, they’re technically superb) and single player content.

If you mean reset as in ‘get back to the centre of the stage’, you definitely can do that. You just have to set what point you want to reset to in the menu.

The animations are ugly as ball and they walk around in the stiffest possible way. Yun/Yang shit all over MK9 characters walk or standing. I kinda understand what you’re complaining about but you need to be more specific. Which are the things Capcom is doing that bother you so much and how do other franchises handle them in a way that makes them better?

I’d say MK9 ‘stiff’ animations are a deliberate, artistic choice that mimicks the original. You may not appreciate the artistic style but they’re leagues ahead technically.

I’m not saying every other game gets *everything *right but I’d struggle to find anything Capcom’s current gen titles do better than their rivals. SFxT for example, lousy visuals, ugly backgrounds, ugly menu art and character vs screens, uninspired music, badly thought out customisations (full neon skins, really??), crap animated intros/endings. The list goes on.

Stop using SFxT as a reference for ANYTHING.

That’s as bad, if not more complicated than UMC3’s record/playback function.
Start+Select resets or bust, thanks very much.

Fuck no to “realistic” visuals in an SF game.

If the next Street Fighter game looks anything like this I will be a very happy man.

I like the cartoony, anime-ish, Capcom style they have. In fact I liked the SFIV models. But, place those models in MAYA or BLENDER, you’ll see that they are very awkard and poorly made. It’s the effects and filters that make them good within each map.

Although I hate anime, SF is the one exception for me.

Use Frostbite 3.0 when it comes out :), Destructible envrionments in a fighter?? Kikosho blowing up the map, Hadoken tearing the ground apart.

Eugh, these look so cheap. Taking a single picture and warping it to look like it’s animated would be a visually offensive game. If it was that art style but ACTUALLY animated I’d like it, but those are just… eugh.

Yeah I get what you mean but since it was all done by one guy it’s understandable that he had to cut corners, if Capcom made the next Street Fighter’s visuals look like that but with proper animation it would look really damn good.

I don’t own any capcom after sfiv. They don’t appeal to me to the slightest. That cartoony style the series is known for looks plain terrible and childish in 3D. I can’t believe people like that. All these pixar movies coming out makes me sad, what’s happening to handdrawn animation?!

it’s a relieve we still have anime and gems like kof xiii.
