Hopefully we get to see some other great stuff in the future for PC
Interesting. Anyone of any difference between arcade and PC versions of Alpha 2?
According to Wikipedia, the PC version is based on the PlayStation version, but with the arcade soundtrack. Presumably, any gameplay problems that may have been found on the PlayStation version weren’t fixed with the PC port.
that ol loading time version?
I will pass and play on ggpo/damdai arcade(forgot what thats called lol)
whats a “GOG”? can they release cvs2(dreamcast or ps2 version) for pc?? DO IT DO IT:eek:
GOG stands for Good Old Games. It’s run by CDProjekt (guys behind the Witcher series) and it’s basically a website that sells old, patched, DRM free PC games (removes CD check, and such), not all games are updated/patched to work with the latest OS but most games do.
I think I purchased Guilty Gear XX #R for $5.99 from them.
I went out and bought it long ago before I discovered emulators.
Pretty much the same as the Arcade version except there’s no Evil Ryu. Shin Akuma and Classic Chunli are still in there. I don’t believe there are any graphical differences, though I did not know Feilong was in Dan’s stage until I played the Arcade version. Maybe I just didn’t notice him.
Not sure if it’s based off the Playstation version since Evil Ryu is in that one I believe.
ok so whats good with a nice/clean cvs2 port?
will pay 59.99
PC is the future!!!
I can see that there is graphical differences just looking at the pics.
Edit: Just a quick look through
The font is wrong on the hud as well with the shading.
There is no shading on the super bar.
There is no shadow on the ko sign.
Even though youtube runs at 30 fps I can tell there is a ton of missing animations but it is a step up of the snes version.
I’m hoping that Capcom releases the PC ports of the Megaman X games to GoG.
Just searching around Google, it seems that the PC version is more or less based on the PSX port.
That said, I’m considering picking this up just to support seeing older Capcom PC game released on GoG.
I had it on PSX back in the day, and there was no Evil Ryu, but S.Akuma, and C.Chun were in.
Easy way to tell also, some characters have more animation when it is a mirror match on the PSX version. Easy ones:
Sakura - breathes when she crouches, she is still normally
Zangief - his walking forward/backs has all animation, normally his walk very chopped and he doesnt walk backwards differently
Gen - EVERYTHING. His poses, his moves, his crouches, his win pose (he laughs when he says “you are weak fool” only if mirror)
Check those out, if those are true, its based on PSX…probably not worth anything.
I can confirm that the PC version is a port of the PSX release.
