Capcom Going Broke, only $152 mill in the bank

If M$ buys Capcom, I’m never gonna dance again. Guilty feet have got no rhythm.

I thought that everyone wanted that game retconed out of history

Dragon’s Dogma Shows that they can, but is like they don’t want to. In fact is basically the reason why i have mild hopes for deep down.

Since Capcom doesn’t give two shits about Mega Man, they should sell it to Nintendo. Then Nintendo should hire on Inafune. Bing bam thank you ma’am.

Can’t they just make sleazy spin offs of their games? I mean, they tried whoring out all their old titles, with like a dozen “classics collections”, and a whole bunch of "online editions"
Why can’t they literally whore them out?
You know, like a game where you take pictures of Sakura and Makoto as they wrestle each other in micro bikinis…all oily…and sweaty…just…barely…almost…auhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ahhh

License whoring is more of SNKP thing.

Sega Saturn had the character modeling game discs, even non-sleazy licensed games’ characters.

I’m sure the Shun Di one still has plenty of copies left.
Came across NCSX shop or someone on eBay trying to sell that recently, lol

So is $152 in the bank bad in comparison to other companies or what? OP posted some website, and a couple of videos of random guys saying that Capcom needs to listen to their fanbase lol. Sounds like these guys won’t be making anything as big as GTA 5, but it doesn’t seem likely they’re broke considering the fact games like Dragon’s Crown have done well with limited budget.

I don’t really think Capcom will go under considering it does have some guaranteed giant money makers. However they are probably going to be a lot more careful and take a lot less risks.

Tencent doing Monster Hunter Online is just another outsource job. That isn’t like the dumb shit SKNP does with it’s IPs.

anywho CVS3 is capcom’s “break in case of emergency” game (yeah right…lol)

Capcom didn’t make fighting games competitive, the fanbase did. Capcom just went along and legitimized the accidental mechanics players derived from the general gameplay.

The concept of combos was largely an accident. Zoning and move priorities were less defined until developers realized how important it was to gameplay in later iterations. For the most part, Capcom just went with the flow and reaped the rewards.

Bloated and parasitic upper management culture, but without a CoD/Madden kind of safety net. And that’s before we even mention that most of their true talent has left, and are making better versions of the franchises they left behind. They think they can be fixed with big business, when the real problem is at the creative level with all the talent they’ve scared away.

This company DESERVES to go down in flames right now. I can’t think of a single Capcom game I’d want to buy outside of bare re-releases from the days when they still made good games.

I wouldn’t trust Capcom to make me a sandwich without shitting in it and fucking it up.
They have proven time and time and time again that unless Kobayashi’s team is on it, it WILL suck somehow, someway, and they’ll STILL try to sneak some DLC BS in as well.

Dead Rising, Monster Hunter, Ghost Trick, Zack and Wiki, and EX Trooper are great Capcom games that don’t have Kobayashi’s name on them. Everything Capcom does isn’t all doom and gloom.

I find it funny that a good chunk of people would want a company to go under like that’ll really teach them a lesson. Nevermind the fact that I’m pretty sure considering that they didn’t make as much money that they like, they’ll probably go back to the well and give people remakes of classic games to recoup money. You can’t fault Capcom for wanting to try something new.

I’ll give you Monster Hunter and Ghost Trick. I’ll even add Dragon’s Dogma.
But when was the last time they made a Zack and Wiki game and the bastards are holding EX Troopers hostage with that same old, “Tell us what you want” crap they pulled with Darkstalkers. Oh and they sold out to M$ for Dead Rising 3, so I expect it will be full of shit as well.

I don’t want Capcom to fail, but this is a company that clearly doesn’t listen and has a proven track record of not learning(or even admitting to) mistakes.

Every game they make from here on out better be above average to great if they’re going to earn anyone’s trust back.

Like SNK…snk v capcom with kofxiii graphics, and no stupid-ass gcfs this time? drool

Zack and Wiki got boned by being a third party Wii exclusive. I’ll would love to see another game and have to series continue on 3DS but that sadly not gonna happen.

EX Troopers thing does piss me off as we did the “tells us we want it” crap during the Japanese pre-release. They already know we fucking want it. We know the game bombed in Japan so why bother with this hostage shit? They must be regretting hard coding the text into the art.

As for Dead Rising 3, I’m more pissed at the series losing it’s identify over it being M$ exclusive. Losing it’s color, quirky humor, the time limit and being a more serious game to try to lure in the CoD crowd. The series is successful the way it is so why change it?

They have learned some things. They haven’t done on-disc DLC since the SFxT shitstorm for instance.

Capcom too busy looking at the numbers CoD brings in and in some sad attempt to bring those in they alienate nearly everyone.
