Capcom Going Broke, only $152 mill in the bank

That games pretty tough with the planes system and the turn around button tho…Still I’ve seen people do crazy shit in that game, so why not right?

Is is worth picking up? I’ve seen it on Steam, but I didn’t buy it.

I would buy that.

Not really no. No one plays it and you need at least 3 people for it to be worth while or else you might as well play a normal Guilty Gear game and not deal with the planes shifting mechanic and the turn around button. Guilty Gear is hard to play as it is, adding those two mechanics on top of it and it becomes that much harder to find people who are any good at it. Hell it’s hard to find people who are any good at normal Guilty Gear

Agreed for the most part. Even the SF cast, not to mention the new additions (Poison and co), are fairly modified from SF4; there aren’t any characters I can think off that are 1 to 1 copies of their SF4 iterations.
The on disk DLC controversy is also stupid. Doing the math (who would actually do that) for current fighting games puts Capcom ahead of almost everyone else. 12 characters for $20 is more than reasonable but people choose to go nuts because Capcom has the “nerve” to put the incomplete character models/artwork on disk? The characters were patched on the DLCs release; the completed DLC wasn’t on the disk lol. Putting new character data should be standard for all tournament games. Having to download large amounts of DLC data should be a negative (trying to download DLC by tethering from my phone was a very interesting experience).
Putting aside the quality of the game (cos actual tournament winners view it differently than forum/pot monsters), from a content/value point of view we got a lot more than we paid for. $80 for SFxT with all DLC characters? I have paid for it 2x and would gladly do it again. Setting an arbitrary limit of $60 per game does not make sense to me; value is far more important.
I generally don’t pity corporations but I feel for Capcom. If they suffered loses due to the reception of SFxT, it is undeserved. If they go bankrupt and we don’t get the games everyone seems to want (I say seems to because this whiny fanbase will invariably find something to bitch about), that is completely deserved.
Edit:

Spoiler

Although fuck the money grab attempt with gems; that was BS.

Yeah, it is kind of weird on that. Especially since the shit that’s been going on with Killer Instinct 2013 is even worse than what happened with SFxT by a good bit (well, character-wise, I thought the whole way gems got handled was kinda sketchy in and of itself), but since everyone was like “OMG! Killer Instinct!” nobody minds just bending over and taking it.

The DLC chars in SFxT were complete not incomplete they were fully functional. Jill and shuma on disc are good example of incomplete chars. SfxT was a huge money grab that deserved the backlash it got and the game still made capcom money (1+ million sales), maybe not as much money as their greedy ass wanted lmao.

Remember RE6 expected sales?

KI looks shitty.

The art style, the changes to make it PC.

Fuck that. Nintendo would have no problem with stereotypes and colors.

Fuck Killer Instinct. That shit is retarded, sell me one fighter at a time. gtfo MS.

Or don’t buy any of them. Play the game for free with the weekly rotating characters. Or buy all 8 for $20. or buy every costume every character and KI classic for $40. Don’t really see what’s wrong with that structure, and anyone who buys characters individually is just dumb when you can get all 8 for $20.

If you dont think losing a character in marvel 2 is equivalent to losing your DP in street fighter you havent played enough marvel 2

most matches are over before they are over and thats disrespectful to the players time

Marvels fun and I’ve had a long long long love affair with it but they just arent ever going to get the proper leeway they need to fine tune a marvel game like they should

its explained here perfectly

Xfactor isnt there so that a new player can take advantage of it and random out an experienced player its so that in high level once your down to the last character your not in a situation where you may as well turn off the Dreamcast
