Capcom Fighting Jam

AGREED!!! . . . but . . . this is capcom . . . we haven’t had an original new fighter since . . . 3s . . .

they do that in ggxx too

Not to mention all of the 2D Mortal Kombat games…

If they’d make characters flat-3D like Viewtiful Joe, then they’d have to redraw them. No way in hell they’d do that and manage to land Alpha sprites and Morrigan’s older-than-God sprite in there. They’d have to try to look lazy then.

I hope they bring back re-dizzy combos that you cant get out of.

I think CapCom is going tooo far with this. They should make a street fighter 4. It’s not really that hard to do. All they have to do is make fresh new chars, bring back some sf2 chars as well as third strike chars except for necro, gill, twelve, and oro. Mix up the gameplay elements from the previous games as well as coming up with new ones. or have a groove option similar to CvS2, but without the SNK style grooves. They sould also give the returning SF chars new sprites especially Guile and Sagat. New moves to add to other moves that the classic sf char already has would be a good idea. More advanced 2d graphics would be possible perhaps. C’mon Capcom!

SF 3 didn’t even do well in sales, why would Capcom even bother with SF4?

Should I say it again? Might as well.

IT COSTS MONEY TO MAKE A GAME.
This money is called capital. Where does capital come from? Well, initially it comes from investors, but those investors will want that money paid back… with interest. So a game made with borrowed money would definitely have to make more than it costs to create.

Later, capital usually comes from the profits of other products. Of course, in order to have profits, the games will have to make more money than it costs to create them. Notice a theme?

2003 was a bad year for Capcom. They don’t have as much money as they used to and they’ve had to make some cuts. SF3 did not have the huge debut that Capcom was hoping for, and even SFA met some resistance from older players. Change is good, but it doesn’t come without risk. Asking for a new and revolutionary Street Fighter 4 would not only cost a lot of money, but would also be huge risk that could decimate the company.

But trust me, if they could, they would.

Well, the original SF3 didn’t sell too well because fans didn’t like the fact that ken and Ryu were the only returning ones and that the newbies replaced everybody else. However, the parrying technique was introduced which was very innovative at the time. Then you had second impact which included Akuma and a couple new characters, which was available for arcades and for the dreamcast which sold better. the counsil version of Second impact also contained the original SF 3 as a bonus pack however only available for the dreamcast and not other systems… The last installment of the series sold the best, but unfortunattally was only available for the dreamcast and arcade. Hell, I see a bunch of people putting their coins in third strike today… Best yet, it’s coming for X-box and Ps2 with internet compatibility along with hyper street fighter 2.

Well, Capcom is extremely lazy and really stupid with street fighter which is why they have trouble coming up with anything new for it while SNK and Namco is going on top of them in the fighting game world… I think. They have the capability to make a street fighter four with the methods I already posted on the last post that I made. Plus, Capcom really needs to clear up the plots involved with the various SF chars. especially the SF 3 ones… I mean the SF continuity is real fucked up and unresolved for the most part… Capcom needs to fix that… Who knows what Capcom will do next… There is large pool of Sf fans out there. If Capcom can make an innovative game that has chars that PEOPLE want along with making new and fresh chars along with an improved fighting system, and that it is available for all next generation counsils of course it would sell. it would sell big time in my opinion. But Capcom is just too lazy with SF… :frowning: I find that really sad… Plus, Capcom USA keeps making a bunch of dumb shit up about SF… ONly makes things worse…

Oh and now that someone just posted, Well, no shit it would cost money to make a game. and lots of it… Since when is anything for free? But still there are companies like Namco making fresh Tekken games… Shit, SNK was able to make about 5 Samurai showdown games… Capcom just needs to keep what’s good about SF and add new good stuff to it. not change it completely. Now do you understand?
