Judging by the video, the SF3 sprites have lost a lot of frames; see Chun’s overhead kick and Yun’s command grab. Makes me wonder why they bothered redrawing them for CvS2 in the first place.
Also, there’s quite a bit of slowdown when Guy jumps at Hauzer. It’s nearly as bad as when big characters roll in the car-crash stage of CvS1. Hopefully that’ll be fixed…
you obviously missing the point of me replying to you when its so obvious. capcom resued sprites. thats it. end of subject. it doesn’t matter if there sprites look better, has more animation. I don’t see how easier i can put it to you. The whole point is they are REUSING SPRITES! Like i said before, for years (thats YEARS) capcom fanboys have been taunting, making flame threads, interrputing SNK threads about crappy snk graphics and how much they REUSED SPRITES. You couldn’t even make an SNK thread without a capcom troll coming in ruining it saying the same lame excuse about how crappy the gfx were or about the reused sprites. Now, i just know your gonna make up another lame excuse to defend capcom.
U r missing the point, capcom has been reusing sprites also for years. What i was saying is that it doesn’t matter if snk/capcom reuse sprites as long as the animation is there. There is no reason y snk can’t put any animation into there characters after 10+ yrs. But it doesn’t matter. This game won’t be as bad as SVC and probably not as good as CVS, just a game till SF4 comes out

The funny thing is that i never said that capcom doesn’t reuse sprites. So time stops comment doesn’t even apply to me. He was talking about people who flame about SNK reusing sprites, which i have never done. now with that said look at A3 blanka and CVS2 blanka. That’s an obvious sprite rip.
I was just referring to the fact that capcom makes up for reusing sprites by AT THE VERY LEAST having animation for their characters. I’m just wondering y snk can’t do the same. Rehashing sprites isn’t a problem for me, but crappy animation is. Especially nowadays it’s no excuse for SNK games too look so bad.
Dude who gives a fuck? Capcom has been reusing sprites for years. Most of the CvS cast and the CvS2 cast consisted of reused sprites. I don’t know what you guys are trying to do here. Do you think that you’re somehow getting revenge for all the times some Capcom fanboy started a flamewar in your thread? The fact of the matter is that SNK does reuse sprites and has horrible animation and that fact doesn’t even have ANYTHING to do with this discussion. Neither is that shortcoming on SNK’s part somehow justified by the fact that Capcom is now releasing a game with reused sprites. About the only thing your points are proving is that you’re no better than the people you’re badmouthing.
Man this game looks terrible. This is the reason 2D fighting games are pretty much dead in mainstream. No effort was put into this game at all it seems. I won’t even touch this one…what a trajesty
If a well drawn Ingrid sprite is in the game, I guess I’ll be pretty happy (or maybe it will be the 3d version, seeing as how they’re just flat out cutting and pasting shit into this game).
I might not be that excited about this game but it’s all you could expect at this point. Fighting games are dead to the mainstream andthe people who still play fighting games are picky as hell. So just give me a good looking Ingrid sprites… and hopefully some online play. Then I’ll be happy.
I have a feeling that this game will be crappy as hell. Then a sequel will be made that is way better but will have some overpowered characters.

I hope this game doesn’t follow the same trend in past capcom fighting games. Capcom should have learned from their mistakes by now.
And to the guys bickering back and forth about teh sprite rips, we get teh point. If people complain about snk ripping sprites then just ignore them. I play snk games and don’t even notice the graphics. I play them cuz I like the games. You don’t have to make a point to the people in this thread about the hipocrites(sp?) that bash snk sprites. If anyone has bashed snk sprites and has taken a look at this game they should STFU, bottom line.
The game does look disapointing so far but it doesn’t matter because its only 30% complete. Ill just wait and see how it turns out in the end.
I don’t know about that “filler” theory either. If I was capcom I wouldn’t waste my time making a game when I could concentrate all of my resources to making sf4 the greatest 2D fighting game ever. shrug
Just got through looking at the vid, the game looks pretty cool for a first attempt. I already know Capcom is gonna do better in the sequel anyways. I like the idea of being to change characters each round. Characters having their own styles seems alittle unfair to me, but is pretty unique. I wonder how the properties of the CCs are for the Alpha people (invinciblity frames).
