Capcom Fighting Jam thread

I think CFJ is gonna be cool if people play a lot and try to get good and shit. I already like it more than CvS2, I think it moves a lot faster.

The squid guy is tight!

Kenji is a pertty good character to stay back with. You can d.short, d.jab, d.jab, d.fierce and it knocks down which leads to some of his hcf+k mixups. (his regular d.fierce is a long chain move, but in the combo it turns into a should move) Afterwards he can pretty much mixup high hits and grabs, the only problem with him is that his mixups are only high hits. He has 1 low hitting move from far away but it’s too freakin slow. If you ever get them dizzy you can jump to the back of the screen and use his dagger super, and combo in the sword slashing move. (or his super after he gets to level 3) These combos do lots of damage, but again pretty much only if they’re dizzy.

Yeah pretty much sit back and wait until you think he will teleport in front of you and attack. Or find a move that he gets hit by and do it over and over again.

I definately agree that it moves faster, one of the reasons I like it so much. Just last night we switched to playing best out of 5 rounds, because 2/3 was going soooo fast.

I’m gonna jump on the squid guy is nasty bandwagon

I accidentally picked him once, and I hated him from the second he came on the screen.

Jimmy where are you guys playing? I want to play with you guys sometime this week.

N-ken: you are a scrub.

Well on Saturday after the tournament I was at Chris’ house and they were going to play Halo 2 but we played CFJ for a while and ended up playing it the whole time because not enough people showed up to play Halo. I don’t know if I am going to play anywhere this week besides my house, I will let you know if I hear something.

Nope, you all have been tricked. The squid is tight.

But I dont wear glasses and get owned by trash compactors. :encore:

The winner is you ^

all your other posts in this thread were not so hot, but see this one was actually pretty good. imma have to go ahead and concede defeat here.

Well at least you admit to the defeat Rairu…

Anyways back to the subject. How does Kenji play? Is he a turtle or rushdown, I hear he’s got hella sick mixup to cuz of some sort of shaddow thing. And Ingrid…a friend of mine said that he found something close to an aegis setup…not so much an unblockable per se, however a tight mixup into big combo. Is ingrid good?

Geez i need to get this game

Kenji can play either way, but you have to know which moves to use up close and far away. Up close he has to rush them down to do anything, he can poke from far away as well and throw daggers. Ingrid at first seems to be weak and has odd moves, but if you play her you will find it quite simple and she plays a lot like CvS2. With her priority, roll, and guard chains she is a pretty great rushdown character. Her d.fierce is really good, it has priority, range, and goes under fireballs.

I own peachy’s squid… wait maybe I should have posted this somewhere else.

btw… thanks to chris for letting me in his place.

Needless to say I sort of lost interest in this game after it was learned that a cabinet won’t be at Kicks. I practiced hella too. And finally found another character for my team. But oh well. Also, yea post over.

Ya know, if you guys want a machine, you need to talk to Sie Wai. Granted, it’s kinda hard 'cause you’d need to drop by Kick’s in Northgate for a face-to-face conversation. But still, it’d be worth it to e-mail him and let him know there’s a demand for CFE at Lanwerx. Ask him how much it’d cost after buying T5, then play the shit out of every game I guess.

I’ll ask him to ban you from Kicks instead.

I are ze sad.

I sent him an e-mail just expressing my opinion, hopefully it has some impact. If they don’t get it, I still think it would be a cool idea to hold tournaments. Maybe that could even show them that there is a good amount of interest in the game.

well I got a pertty quick response.

That sucks. Oh well, not much we can do there.
