Capcom Fighting Jam impressions

yay… reminds me of that match with Ino (V-ism Zangief) VS Jason Cole (A-ism Dhalsim)… good times {Splash… c.lpxN)

Must…resist…ugh…

Who am I kidding?

Dark Side, here I come!

I don’t think I’m playing the same game as you guys.

When I absorb a fireball with Rose’s Jab Reflect, I get 17%.

When I’m Gief and people are playing keep away… I keep away. If people throw FBs, I green hand them or lariat through. I don’t care about blocking jump in patterns because there’s no guard meter. Against Vega (Bison), I literally blocked for 90% of the round. Because of his damage, if you’re patient, you’ll usually end up ahead. Only problems I’ve had so far are Jedah and Guile (but Guile is a doable match). But what do I know about Gief anyway? :stuck_out_tongue:

Jedah as a runaway character gets probably a guaranteed 4 wins. I saw a rushdown Jedah character get 30. It was like fighting Campbell’s Morrigan, but having to worry about the wheel and the fullscreen super as well. This was at More. No one was playing it anymore at that point. All the big names were upstairs, still on CvS2.

Capcom had to have messed up CFE pretty badly if people want to play cvs2 over it. I hope it is just due to some wacky Japanese preference the same way KOF was/is more popular than SF over there.

Any information on Bison?

ill take wacky japanese over ignorant american.

hes good. thing is he suffers a bit in the old school game system id say and so isnt getting much play so far.

+j.MK crosses up though youve gotta be close.
+j.HK has good priority and damage.
+all his heavys seem to recover faster than his cvs2 version (see c.HP and s.HK, maybe even the c.HK).
+c.LP is good for as spamming defence on wake up (outprioritize).
+psycho crusher is sf2 safe against most characters it would seem when used from the right distance, this could change though as it may be a case of timing to hit him (karin can hit just after hes passed with a s.HP).
+suffers in the corner against anyone with a good fb bait->aa (especially ryu) where he has very few options because of his floaty jump.

i <3 more

Thanx for the info beelzebubble!

Thanks Beelz, one question though: By floaty jump you mean that jumps are slow, but are they slow for SF2 characters only or all characters?

I keep hearing the gameplay is slow but then I see videos where the gameplay is fast paced and tight as a motherfucker! EXPLAIN! :frowning:

Btw does Bison have his teleport and Psycho banish? What about his Kick throw?

i cant remember his cvs2 teleport but in this one it looks really cool, he just disappears sort particle by particle… hard to explain exactly but it looks like some water effect style transperency thing… sorry to be so vague…

yeah the speed in the video looked faster than what ive been playing. id still say it runs slower than alpha 3 though.

hes got the fb banish from cvs.

jumping is just a nono in this game, faster jumpers can get away with it (like demitri) but bison has a floaty jump (like in cvs2) so hes better off not jumping that much.

kick throw i suppose (provided different combos do different throws) ill try tomorrow.

so yeah teleport = in, banish = in, kick throw = probably floaty jump = depends on the character (nool and bison are floaty).

Good thing he’s got the Psycho Banish & Teleport. I feared Bison would only have his SSF2t specials (since that’s the game he represents). BTW Does he only has his Nightmare Knee Press as a SC? Or does he also has his Super Psycho Crusher from CvsS2?

yeah he has both

Just played Hauzer today… and he really sucks.

His fullscreen firebreath super has no freakin’ invincibility. I used on a Ryu player and we both did the move at the same time. He used a blue fireball and I used the super. And he beat me. Stupid Hauzer.

His c. hk and hk have a half screen range(it’s his tail). He has no combos(or it’s just that I don’t know how to use him yet). His D,U+k(ala hondas flying buttsplash) is easily punishable by everyone when blocked. His fireball which has a low arc range and has lag at the start is horrible. His normal anti-air is either crouching forward or strong(I forgot which one)

Nice, that makes me a happy man :karate:

That makes me a very happy man as well.

Now all that’s missing is adding Shin Bison as the Alpha boss. Redraw his current sprite with a cape + give him his Psycho Break Smasher.

whoa KANE you guys have CFJ in the philippines already?
Anyways I played the game again today. my friend was playing a pretty good Hauzer if u ask me. Its really late now, but details to come tomorrow.

yagami , at which place ??

don’t tell me is jurong >_>

I dont know if it’s been mentioned yet but

Pacific South >>> Super Arcade has CFJ

Bison is a beast.

And if you ask me, yagami was playing a Spectacular Alex, Yun and Chun-Li. Although he couldn’t Link Yun’s dive kick into anything (Probably because hauser is BIG or something). he managed to pressure me EXTREMELY well with Chun. It is tight business getting out of Chun’s barrage.

But because of Yagami , I learnt a LOT about Warzard. That Breaking stock makes me invincible and gives me time to throw etc

Good competition forces you to learn fast man
