As you probably already know by now (Pocari posted about it), Ingrid has three levels of her super bar, and three supers to with them.
The level one super (qcfx2, P) throws a slow, small fireball. It will detonate when it touches the opponent, or at a certain distance (determined by button strength). It comes out instantly (or very close (surprisingly, good anti-air)), but moves slowly, so I doubt that it can be combo’d into except for after her qcb, p/k move. It does pretty good damage, and also seems possibly useful for setting up throws, overheads, and such.
The level two super (qcbx2, K, I think (maybe qcf?)) is a super version of her spinning kick move. Unless somebody knows a move that cancels into it, it will be pretty hard to connect with.
The level three super (qcbx2, P) is sort of like a fast version of her level 1. As Pocari speculated, the button strength determines the location that the circle will appear. Seems like it might be good for punishing fireballs or other predicted attacks. The furthest the circle will appear is not full-screen. We call it a circle, but it’s drawn in perspective, so the actual hit-box is tall and skinny. I don’t think there are ‘safe’ spots (at least, not big ones), but there’s certainly no overlap between various strengths. Does okay damage, but nothing to scream about (considering it’s level 3).
Well I’l be heading down to the arcade myself in a bit, I’l play her myself and I’l confirm if what my friend says is true. Well he says her fireball mainly is back to its Alpha 2 roots. Will test out her normals when I get the chance yo.
I knew they were going to change the names of Mukuro and Nool, in Warzard if you switch the text to english, 40% of all characters name changes.
By the look of this, Ingrid is top tier, at least every other characters has their weaknesses.
Just give it time and you’ll probably see Mukuro, Jedah, and ect. being top tier, is just that people don’t play these characters much ( or ever ) so they don’t know what to do on their first try.
I want to say that, while people are certainly trying things out, it’s still early to say what the tiers will be. I can tell you what people are playing here, now, but try not to jump to conclusions too quickly.
I’ve heard a couple people complain about Rose being weak, but have never actually seen her being played… Although, if fireball trapping is still the fad of the day over here, that might be enough to make me want to try her out.
In truth, I don’t care. Rose is a flavor character that I will be sticking with no matter where she appears in any sort of tier. I’m all about having fun, winning is only icing on the cake.
Mostly I just wonder about the properties of her standard attacks, which I know I probably won’t find out until I find a machine and mess around with her for a while.
Ouch Seems like the game is grossly unbalanced based on the testimonies given so far. Too bad, I was hoping that Capcom would never allow a game to be as unbalanced as MVC2 ever again, but I guess their lazyness got the best of em again.
ohhh…Is it out?? Thats so damn Great.well it be released on PSX2?
I am so dissapointed with yun,I though he will be better than CvsS2(More like 3S Yun).I think the Ninja Guy from warzard will be My choice after all ^_^(his name is Huazer right?).
An ingrid Seems too Powerfull for Nothing…
I think maybe some of the people playing this game have not tried hard enough? Rose for e.g. can do 25% combo off a C.LP.
I’ve concentrated on Hauser today, and he is a very good zoning character. Just use his C.LP more then go from there. I’m not sure, but just try harder ok. I fought against a good Jedah (Almost tried to trap my hauser with the old Spinblade, into poke back into spin blade)
It’s just a matter of using their power to the fullest extent.
Hauser is a real threat with his Super Breath weapon, that’s what you’re supposed to get to playing him. No one will do random jumps. And although he’s big and LOOKS slow, (which he is NOT), his pokes are really devastating. I swear, hauser is at least middle tier just because of his pokes.
And ultimate guard may be slow, but can get him out of situations.
Oh well… I can’t back it up with words. I just have to play him more.
ryu has improved recovery and enaction time on his fb in this game. comes out very fast and he recovers from the motion quicker too making him better in that regard.
jedah seems crazy but that is prolly just my lack of experience fighting him. this guy racking up wins with him was throwing the spinning blade, jumping, air dashing over my head and somehow hitting me from behind as he landed behind me… sorta of like a really nice b+B with iori in kof except jedah is floating of course not jumping so the timing seems really lenient. hed also use the spinning blade to fake out for the super where he pulls you down into hell. jedah gave me no end of trouble thats for sure.
I probably gave people the wrong impression about some things.
When I play the game, obviously I’m looking mostly for the strengths and weaknesses. So I probably have been mentioning those a lot. But, let me honestly say that it doesn’t seem very unbalanced.
I saw an interesting strategy from a Mukuro player. Previously I had written off Mukuro because he’s weak. To be blunt. However, he does have a pretty good air poke that reaches most of the way across the screen which looks very good, and a similar poke on the ground that probably isn’t quite as useful. As far as being weak, well, that’s true. He doesn’t really deal a whole lot of damage, and he isn’t very damage resistant, so it’s usually a little bit of an uphill fight.
However, the Warzard system (which I still don’t really have a handle on) allows characters to level up. You start at level one, and by cashing in a bar of super you can increase your level. The level increase makes a transparent pillar of light around your character. It’s not an attack, but it’s very fast. Leveling up not only heals your character slightly, but also seems to improve the damage on their attacks. Here’s the thing - you keep your levels between rounds (I don’t know if this is true if you switch characters).
So, this player would play a keep-away first round, and would try to throw out projectiles whenever possible to build meter. If he was lucky, he could be level 3 when round two started, or shortly after. If he gets to level 5 or 6, he can really deal some good damage.
Not GAME BREAKING, but probably a good way to spend the super bar - especially if you’re willing to commit to using only Warzard characters.
I guess Mukuro also has a fairly good projectile super. Okay damage, instant startup (despite its looks).
There is another possibility why accounts differ. On my arcade, The damage may have been upped. Lets do a comparison. ShinShoryuken does around 50% right? on non Vampire characters. So…is that the same?
Anyway, Zangief is not weak, he has 2 moves that make him scary enough. His Flying Grab, and most importantly, his Lariat. his lariat is his life saver here, because it’s what hit’s and knocks people down, and his light SPD does not do 25%, it does 33% on my arcade. I’m not sure if this is confirmed by previous players who say it is 25%. It definitely does way more, And I’m talking Light SPD here.
I’ve played it with four other firends, and we concentrated on differnet characters. Seems like a balanced game to me so far. we may be ‘Scrubs’ in that it’s our first day playing. But doing C.LP x C.LP x C.MP x Spiral for 33% isn’t bad for Rose.
