That explains those ugly videos where Dimitri just kept on jumping in on people and doing blocked chains. But plenty of characters should have moves that can beat a jumping attack or even trade for the advantage since vampire characters ares upposed to be weak (in terms of damage)… I can’t raelly understand why it’s such a problem.
What the hell? I heard that Sony got a " no more 2d policy" this may be the last street fighter game you get to see transfer to your ps2 (that’s why maxium impact is now 3D from what i heard.)
well, that isnt news… thats why capcom didnt have a 3d megaman for like ever…
felicia has the neko punch.
the initial jump roundhouse has amazing priority. so even if you jump and try to counter attack, you’ll get hit first. and if you stay on the ground, he can whiff jumping roundhouse and then add jumping forward like 1/2 second after. so basically, when he’s jumping upwards, the roundhouse comes out. when he’s dropping down, the forward comes out. so he’s pretty much totally covered unless you have some sort of invincible AA like ryu’s shoryuken so you can psychic DP him during his jump or between the jump chain and the ground chain.
i saw the cpu use pyron as a boss character. that doesn’t really mean you can unlock him though.
Pocari:
Hey what’s up? How are things in Japan?
SOunds like Anakaris is pretty close to his VS incarnation, with his pyramid dives into high/low games and all. Sweet. Does he have all his Curse supers or not?
More questions: Did anyone observe the ranges for normal throws and command throws? Do some characters have a bigger throw range than others or does everyone have to be right up close to grab? Can Zangief suck in opponents with SPD like in ST?
Does Guile’s knee hop travel much farther forward like it was in the SF2 games?
I’m just praying Karin’s standing Fierce still has godly priority as an anti-air.
Excuse me while I meditate on the matter.
Can anyone set the record, Is it called Capcom Fighting Jam or Capcom Fighting Evolution? I keep hearing more of Evolution. Just want to know for sure, since most stores call this as well as magazines.
been working ungodly hours in japan for little pay. haha.
i have never seen anakaris’s super moves. everybody just did EX versions of special moves.
and i am not sure about throw ranges either. sometimes i’m standing on the toes of the opponent and we both go for a throw and we both end up whiffing and i was using alex. it wouldn’t really make sense for everyone to have same throw range but i couldn’t tell if the ranges were different.
Gief is pretty slow. he seemed slower than his A3 version. i never saw anybody suck in someone with SPD because well, everybody is always in the air when they fight against gief. only time i saw a SPD was from a blocked jump in attack and then grab when they land. it dealt huge damage 30~40%??? but then they both bounce really far away and gief has to work REALLY HARD to get in to deal more damage.
Guile’s knee hop travels like 3~4 character widths (1/4 of the screen??) so it’s a good move to follow up after a full screen sonic boom. he is also high off the ground and low kick attacks will probably whiff when guile knee hops. looks like a mini tiger knee.
I’m just curious as of how the A3 meter works.
Is it more like CvS2 A groove? or are there slight changes to timing and all that?
Did you live under a rock or something? They’ve made 3D games of Megaman. The Megaman Legends series, the Tron spin off, and MegamanX7.
Megaman went to 3D years ago, and don’t give me that those games aren’t Megaman excuse either.
They only have that policy in the US, in Japan they don’t have that policy because 2D fighters are still in demand over there, so it’s still good for that market. It’s only in the US where Sony is all anal about it, and KOF Maximum Impact has ALWAYS been a 3D fighter, maybe you got it confused with KOF Neowave or something.
It’s like Pocari said. The problem isn’t damage - it’s priority. It seems like almost nothing can beat out Demitri’s air short (and roundhouse, I guess - I kept getting shut out by short, myself).
So the problem is that while it doesn’t do a whole lot of damage, it’s very hard to stop. The words ‘safe jump-in’ really just don’t belong together.
woo!
anyone got any news on mr.akuma of the shin variety? i would luuurve to see his new artwork, and i really hope there ar eother secret boss dudes…u lucky guys gettin to play it already
No news of secret or boss characters. Probably no news about them for a week or more… unless they’re unlocked via versus play. I can’t even tell you what story mode is like, because there’s always somebody on the machine.
Ryu is a fucking tank. Jesus christ, it’s like we’re in the SSF2X stone age, again. It was a good game, I guess - props and all that. But there’s an SSF2X machine right next to the CFJ machine, and I’ll tell you that there’s nobody playing it. CFJ, on the other hand… I’m hoping it’s just the fad of the day, but every team seems to either a) have Ryu on it, b) have Ingrid on it, c) have both, d) lose. To beat a decent Ryu, you must play very tight. His shoryuken does sick damage, and jump-ins must be precise or you will eat one. It doesn’t seem like there are many characters than can easily make Ryu go on the offensive, except by gaining a significant lead on life, then completely turtling.
Both of Ryu’s supers look like they come out instantly, and I’ll say it again: amazing damage.
On the other hand, let me say that Guy seems to have all the tools necessary to kill Ryu. Also, possibly Anakaris (open-coffin?) and Rose (but nobody seems to play her at all, right now). Any other good characters with anti-fireball moves? Ingrid’s crouching fierce has good reach (can stuff fireballs) and makes her lower (so fireballs can pass over her), but it seems like you have to do a psychic roll in order to recover in time to punish Ryu’s fireball. It seems like almost every other character will probably have to play footsie with Ryu to have a chance of hurting him, and that’s pretty dangerous, since Ryu will have a good damage advantage against just about everybody.
Zangief is totally worthless. His SPD does maybe 25% life (probably a good 33% against a darkstalkers character), but without air-blocking, rolling, parrying/blocking/just defense, or even a dash, it’s almost completely impossible for him to close distance. Anakaris probably can play runaway for the entire match waiting for a timeout, thanks to his switching-sides move.
People seem to have more or less given up on Hauzer. He was kinda funny for a day, but that’s it. I saw a few new moves from somebody playing Nool. These new moves didn’t seem to actually be very effective, however. He seems to play sort of like Tessa/Tabasa and Goenitz in SVC; designed to keep the opponent at bay with projectiles and traps. However, his projectiles seem to come out too slow to be worth using if your opponent is very close. He looks like he has good air-to-air attacks, but not good air-to-ground attacks, so usually he gets hurt if he jumps. He has a move a little like Goenitz’ hurricanes or Twelve’s, uh, thing that shoots tentacles from the ground. Seems like his only fast distance option. I don’t know if people have learned how to use it effectively, yet… but I also don’t know that it could help him much.
Leo seems to have fallen out of favor, due to generally being slow. He still seems like he has an okay zoning game (low, long range poke with crouching MK, long anti-air with crouching HP, and a couple long air-to-ground attacks (I don’t really know which one is best, yet)), but if his opponent gets close, it doesn’t look like he has many options. Is the entire Warzard cast losers?
Maybe.
Alright, one more time…
The WarZard characters… do they have DASH or RUN? This is important information! If they can run, then what are the properties? Can the run be stopped immediately with an attack? Slide distance after a stop? Run speeds for each character?
I won’t give up on Leo or Hauzer. They’ll both be on my roster, along with Guile, Bison, and possibly Urien and Rose. I don’t care about their popularity or tier placements… top-tier or sewer-tier, it doesn’t matter to me.
I’d like to know a bit more about Ingrid’s roll properties. That stupid roll shouldn’t even be in the game. But if she can be hit or thrown out of it easily, then maybe it won’t be so bad to deal with.
Leo sounds like the early cvs2 days w/Haomaru lol…
I’m still gona use Gief. KKK Lariats bitches!
</3 @ pocari. Make Alex work yo!
i was stating that it took capcom about 3 years to get a 3d megaman made because of that policy… i know that there are 3d megamans made… you mistook what i was saying.
No matter what
I’m playing the blue ninja dude, guy, jedah, demitri, rose, sakura.
If guy plays like his sfa3 incarnation, his qcb+HP goes through fireballs if timed right
can anyone tell me whether there is any truth in this pic:
http://ridilla.net/img/ps/cfj.jpg
i think it is a fake pic, but can anyone confirm whether Twelve is available in this game or not?
Well my friend who plays Sak in CVS2 says that CFE Sak is more like A2 Sak more than anything.
