Capcom Fighting All-Stars, what was the real reason it was canned?

Looks…terrible to me.

I would love to read a first hand account from somebody who played the game for a while. I only ever remember hearing 2nd hand info about the game. It really is one of those things that needs a ‘proper’ explanation from S-Kill or Capcom, kind of like what the truth behind Sega vs Capcom was, and if there was ever a Pocket Fighter 2 in development.

From what I can see in the vid, there seem to be some issues. For one, it appears that hit stun seems really low in this game. Also the side step seems grossly overpowered. Seeing as this is a game that plays like a 2-D game with some 3-D elements, I’m almost sure there were no moves that tracked. But I can see where the game looks really clunky. Still not sure why they couldn’t just work on that and the side step (by possibly making some moves track). In either case, outside of the roster, such a game just looks conceptually bland and sterile. But I would love to hear first hand what was wrong with the game by someone who actually played it. You can only gather so much from vids

i wanna play this game so bad someone needs to find a prototype or something

Why is everyone talking about Haggar?

The real issue was that Poison was playable in the game.

poison should be playable in 3s she has a sprite or whatever

Poison and Haggar were playable in FFR, but that game is FFR. lol

I bet the boards that were being used for the loketest are hidden in a warehouse next to a stack of ET Atari cartridges.

But for reals, I would of liked to see this game develop beyond some of these vids. If it came out I wonder if SF4 may of looked different, or maybe it wouldn’t of come out in 3d because they game may not of done well. Then again, who knows…
