I agree it’s not a competitive game and this game let me appreciate ae 2012 more. It’s a kusoge. The price gouging is on another level. The walk speeds are horrible and while I like footsies landing a 500 plus combo off one limb does not make a good game it makes it feel random.Because instead on letting the person who has better footsies overall win it’s who lands it’s when they have meter.Honestly when I land Kazuya infinite I just time people out depending on opponent.Play to win right? Also I dont like when I press something simple and a whole full movie animation happens.Like for example throws. Atleast in kof when you see something badass its cause you deserved it.I think we are in the dark ages in the sense that the games of now still can not hold a candle to the games of the past.I do not feel that these games will stand the test of time and capcom knows this actually it probaly part of their business plan.To those that like it play on though.
I have a lot of minor gripes with this game but I think its amazing how Capcom took so many characters from a 3D, 4 button game and made them into Street Fighter characters (even if they reused a lot of stuff). I give them credit for that.
And with the tide comes the salt. :china:
.
You said " YOU don’t remember the dark ages when no new games were being released for years." and this is not true at all and a lot of those games are great if not better, plain and simple, you are trying to avoid that statement and now you are talking about “scenes”, USA =/= The World, also we had strong arcade scenes and not everyone cares about e-fame, people cared about having fun, if you didn’t have the privilege to play those games is another case, but if you are talking how “There was not good FG in those years because Capcom didn’t release games in those years” , sorry but you don’t have criteria at all.
If you are a FG fan you should know that Capcom is not the only company making FG and a lot of those games had strong scenes outside the US, Why some people like to name those times as the “dark ages” ? because they don’t want to get destroyed and learn against veterans and show their E-peen?.
Anyways i certainly admire your enthusiasm despite all the hate against the game (no sarcasm), but those statements are wrong.
On topic: OP is good that you are having fun, i encourage you to try new options when you feel prepared to find new challenges
Enjoy your sluggish DP fest.
You’re against 500 damage combos off of footsies, yet you’re OK with a game that gives you 400 off of mashing reversals?
I honestly doubt you’ve regularly timed someone out with Kazuya’s loop. Show me more than five videos from the same day and I’ll believe you.
You hate SFxT cinematics, yet are fine with SF4, a game that also has cinematics for simple inputs?
I am just afraid of all the easy infinities people are finding, it might not ruin tournaments since they can just ban them but online play is going to be a bitch.
sluggish? SfxT feels as stiff as a c***!!!
I haven’t played a “fighter” with online this bad since Brawl. Pains me to say that but at least that game didn’t have audio issues in a game revolving off of hit confirms and projectiles not appearing on screen.
I do both. Playing online doesn’t make you a scrub. Guess porkloafking, Diago, and all the other good players who use it to train are scrubby too.
Yeah I see your point, but they fixed the balance (for the most part) and glitches. As it stands now this game feels incomplete + wasn’t playtested enough but hopefully patches will fix it soon. I’m sure they will.
That’s only if your character has a DP in SF4. Every character in SFxT can do a respectable amount of damage off of one hitconfirm, this is not true for SF4 in terms of playing footsies or mashing reversal (with any character). You can’t be selective with your reasoning.
I think both games are kinda meh, but try to look at every character in SF4 instead of just the ones who can DP fadc into Ultra.
lmao
GGXX, #R, Slash, AC
KOF99,00,01,02,03, XI
T4,T5,T6,SCIV, VF4, VF5
MBAC, MBAA
HNK, FUC, SBX, TRF1,TRF2, AH1, AH2, AH3, etc, etc etc
not to mention all the doujin fighting games
it was only a “dark age” if you only play capcom fighting games
no you arent, but what can you expect when capcom has usa from the nuts and the only shit that they care for is sf and mvc
even worse with all the new player base that have only played sf4 or mvc3 and think that those games are the end of the spectrum and the epitome of fighting games
Woah, came in here fully expecting the title to be sarcasm and see a raging op. Glad to see that for once that’s not the case.
Personally, I’m enjoying the game a lot. I guess the damage potential on hitconfirm doesn’t bother me so much because I’m so used to MvC3 where you die from one combo pretty much always. This game feels like a breath of fresh air after spending the last year or so playing that. I do wish the online weren’t so screwy though. =\
I think it’s a fun game overall. Somethings bother me with the game(and the DLC issue) but I’ve had a reasonably enjoyable experience for the past week.
You aren’t definitely the only one. Tons of great games came out in the dark ages of street fighter. KOF2002UM and GG:AC are some of the best fighters I have ever played and they came out in “dark ages.”
The game is fun. There’s just so many problems with the game itself that I can’t bring myself to take it seriously, and there’s so many things wrong with the way Capcom is handling it from a business standpoint that I cannot bring myself to buy it and support what may very well be the beginning of the end.
But it is fun, I will grant you that.
I still hate this sf4 style shit so much. these characters doesnt have to so huge. can I get some breathing room please! >:(
marvel3 sprites/character designs look better than ono figters.
No. We replaced all the oxygen with muscles. Sorry.
why are people keep thinking Graphics = Aesthetics…it doesn’t. I won’t get too technical but, a games Art style doesn’t effect its graphics engine…
MVC3 uses MT frameworks, the same engine that was used for RE5…why doesn’t MVC3 character models look as good as the RE5 ones? because of Aesthetics.
SFIV and SFxTK uses different Aesthetics to convey its characters…and frankly it goes unappreciated far too often. Most 3D fighters that are praised for looking good such as SCV don’t even compare to SFIV when it comes to animations especially when it comes to facial expressions…
oh well for SFxTK trying to be different, and unique…i guess everything should look like SF2…>_>’ that would please alot of people. . .
Naw, SFA3 graphics or bust
lolz i loved Z3 but for god sakes not everyone in SFIV looked bad…look at everyones favorite from SSFIV, Juri~ she had a good character model~
i mean Ben look at your Avatar! LOOK AT IT!!! ITS AWESOME!
What, Guile in the middle of deciding which face he wants to wear today? It’s hilarious.
lolz but in all seriousness i just looked at the thread named i spent $350 on SFxTK and i never seen such retarded shit in my life…i swear if someone needed their ass kicked its him. but i guess i cant be too surprised…this is SRK dumb shit happens all the time. but randomly like this thread, good things happen too…my hats off to neclord for praising as good game~
SFxT’s graphics just look like SF4’s graphics put through an awful saturation filter. Also, there’s WAY too much in the way of browns and reds in the palette.
Granted, part of that is because all the characters who were present in SF4 were ported straight from SF4. A chunk of the Tekken characters, as well as Elena and Hugo, don’t look too bad. In fact, they actually look pretty pleasant overall.
