Capcom Classics Collection 2 (f/ arcade perfect ST)

Something’s odd with Magic Sword. I know the arcade version let you choose an ally before joining a game in progress. I usually switch sides after dying, if my ally dies instead of continuing from the same player. Example:

Before I die, my Knight dies. After that, I died and have to continue. If I continue from the same player, I usually get a random ally, which most of the times its a shitty ally (Theif). If I switch players, I’m able to choose an ally.

However, it seems on CCC2, you are unable to choose an ally. Am I suppose to do something, cause I’m hitting all the directions on the D-Pad?

If you have AE, I’ll play you on Live. I would much rather play ST, but I don’t have anyone to play, and AE on Live is the only form of SF I get to play nowadays.

What’s wrong with using Arcade Mode for tournaments?

You don’t have to worry about the winner switching characters or about handicap or about stage selection or about switching button configuration. If anything, Arcade Mode is more preferable to use for tournaments. So why wouldn’t you want them to focus on Arcade Mode?

To resolve the random freezup while in versus mode, just turn the continues to infinite,in options.

Random Soun slowdown,however…

Arcade mode should be (and is) an exact replica of the arcade. Japanese tournaments run on arcade machines, and it’s about time Americans cando the same, even if we’re allowed to bring our own sticks with our macros (but this is not something I want to discuss in this thread).

Everyone please just stop playing Versus mode and spent a few extra seconds to press continue after you lose. Guess what? THAT’S WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO WHEN YOU’RE AT AN ARCADE CAPSCAPSCAPSCAPSCAPSCAPSCAPS!11!!1

aren’t there dipswitch settings for these games? I’m sure turning event mode on would fix the whole versus thing.

I don’t think arcade ST had an event mode. You could set it to free play though.

arcade st indeed has no event mode

I’ve had something that seems like a glitch happen to me in arcade mode. I was New Sagat against Chun Li, it was the second round, and she had 1 pixel of life left and I had a couple with literally 2 or 3 seconds left. Chun activates her super, I get special block damage, but the counter reaches zero before she kills me but I still get the death howl and fall to the floor dead, but still have 1 pixel of life left. Chun does her tie pose and it’s ruled a draw game for that round. Mind you, the last hits that killed me off were after the timer reached zero, but did a little damage before it did.

I’m aware of the glitches NKI found with super finishes with time running out on the PSone, so… is this something that happened in the arcade? I’ve played ST in the arcade, but nothing like this ever happened, as it is a rare occurance anytime.

Just putting info out there.

street fighter collection for ps1 i have it this game is perfect to me as well as street fighter collection 2 may have load times but everything runs fine to me with no bugs that i know about anyway just my 2 cents:lol:

I JUST go this. what is the fucking secret to SF1. (I know, don’t play it.) But seriously, how do you do specials?

Awesome i got the Classics collection 2. Sadly however much like Capcom Classics 1, CCC2 does NOT work on HDAdvance 3.0 for whatever reason…

Mash. Very often.

Too bad SF1’s cheat isn’t “Easy Specials”. The “Invincibility” cheat sucks compared to it ):

I used to have SF collection 1 for PSOne, but sold it on e-bay when i got a hold of Capcom Classics 1 for PS2.

Which has all of those SF titles, plus the rest.

Maybe you’re thinking of SFC2. SFC1 has Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold. CCC1 has none of those games.

so has everyone decided that the PS2 vers. is better than the xbox or is the latter better? all the shit talk about the sound glitch has made this annoying as I haven’t heard any sound issue from the ps2 vers. then again I might be wrong.

Yeah I’m curious if people are just having problems with HD TV’s or is it problems with every kind of TV. And I’m also curious if it’s xbox or PS2 that is having the most trouble.

I haven’t had any problems yet and I’m using the PS2 ver. on a non-HD TV.

The secret to doing the specials is to time the release of the button as you finish the joystick movement. So… for fireballs, you can hold punch, then down, down forward, forward + let go of the button.

This will increase your chance of getting the special many times over.

For me, the glitches are very minor. Especially if you use arcade mode, agian, really only slight sound glitches happen and that’s like every 10 matches or something (unless you include the music slowdown glitch)

Other than that, as long as you play arcade mode, the game seems to run fine. I’m new to ST really, so I dunno about precise gameplay points, but people are saying that this is the version to go with!

God help me, but I think I’m addicted to Street Fighter 1. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I’ve actually played this more than ST so far. I’m thinking some actual human competition might change all that, but until then…

Seriously, I must have spent an hour or so last night rolling the stick from F to D and back again, mashing Fierce and watching random shizz come out (hey, it works!). The Shoryuken is the Magical Touch of Death? in this game, several times I landed it as an anti-air and it must have done about 90% damage.

Anti-air Shoryuken -> S.Fierce = match over. Oh what a feeling.
