Capcom announcing 2 new games at PAX in March

<font face=“Arial, Verdana” style=“font-style: normal;”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Oh rest assured when I shit on Capcom that comes straight from my heart. I haven’t bought a Capcom title since MvC3. Ever since the Megaman Legends fiasco and the rape and murder of Devil May Cry, I have nothing but hatred for their execs and apathy towards their products.</span></font><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; line-height: normal;”>I’m not one of these jokers who bitch about Capcom and then line up to give them more money. I have sworn to never purchase another Capcom offering until their shit improves. <i>Special exception for CvS2 Online, however</i></div><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; line-height: normal;”><i><br></i></div><div style=“font-style: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; line-height: normal;”>For every Dragon’s Dogma or Monster Hunter Capcom does, they produce two to three fuck ups on the scale of SFxTekken. Who here actually wanted DmC? They would be fine if they would just man up and admit “Yo, we have no idea what to do with our old franchises so we’re just going to focus on new IPs until we get our shit straight.”</div><div style=“font-style: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; line-height: normal;”><br></div><div style=“font-style: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; line-height: normal;”>That, and their PR department is just so full of shit. Remember how they advertised Asura’s Wrath? How we all thought it was going to be an awesome action game with incredible interactive cutscenes and direction, and instead we got QTE: The Game?</div><div style=“font-style: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; line-height: normal;”>Or how they straight-up lied during the SFxTekken hype by teasing Cody and Guy in the playable roster? Oops, forgot to tell you they are paid DLC only! </div><div style=“font-style: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; line-height: normal;”><span style=“font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 1.7em;”>Last, but not least(actually it is the least)… DmC. Tameem Antoniades. Alex “The Human Catfish” Jones… Enough said.</span><br></div><div style=“font-style: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; line-height: normal;”><span style=“font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 1.7em;”><br></span></div><div style=“font-style: normal;”>If there’s a Capcom panel @ EVO I’m probably going to get removed, because I have some questions for whomever has the unfortunate pleasure of representing Capcom. I won’t be a jackass, but I will go in on their management decisions over the last several years, that’s for sure.</div>

Just give me Dragon’s Dogma 2 and I won’t ask for anything more.<br>

The core gameplay is you shoot robots to pieces. How would that NOT translate to 3D?<br>

Asura’s Wrath was a great story, Im not even mad about that

But it wasn’t a game. That was the problem. It was a good movie though

In the spirit of contrarianism, I’d disagree. I think people should consider (don’t have to agree, just consider) that maybe we’re just getting older, and maybe its just that playing the 100th iteration of SF/MegaMan/whatever when you’re 25 ain’t gonna be the same as when you played the 1st iteration when you were in 1st grade, no matter how good that 100th iteration is??<div><br></div><div>Even if Capcom is responsible for some stinkers, 1) who isn’t? 2) they still created most of my favorite franchises</div><div><br></div><div>/devilsadvocate</div></div>
</blockquote>

But the people buying these new spins on old franchises are mostly the diehard fans. I’m not saying don’t try to appeal to a new audience but the aftermath results in old fans who ignored it being more than new people + old fans who purchased.<br><br>They need to make new IPs that fit with today’s taste.<br><br></div>
</blockquote>

I agree with your second statement for sure.<div><br></div><div>I’m just saying I think Capcom gets burnt more than they deserve for some of their newer entries into the older franchises.  Just on these boards I think players hold them to a virtually impossible standard of preserving old game mechanics, while also introducing new ones. So many people on here sound like they’d be pleased if Capcom just visually touched up MvC2 and rereleased it until eternity than ever making a new fighting game (amirite NickGuy??). And furthermore I think people blame Capcom for their own retreating interest in fighting games. Lets be real, no new fighting game is gonna get any of us as excited as when we were still adolescents jamming in the arcades, and thats called growing up, not Capcom blowing it.</div></div>
</blockquote>

<br><div><br></div><div>This pretty much.  The amount of people who want Capcom fighting games to play like “the old shit to a tee” is a vocal, but minute amount of players that already hate everything.  Everyone else only really cares about roster and some type of balance they can “feel” between the characters since Capcom has instilled on every Joe Shmoe that tweaking and balancing means a lot to them (despite the fact that they don’t play competitively enough for it to affect them greatly).</div>

3D Megaman was cool but the gameplay not Megaman-esque by any means…<br><br>However it was still pretty fucking cool… dope power ups, bosses, and a nonsensical story… <br>

Gritty reboots of Asura’s Wrath and Mega Man by Ninja Theory.<br><br>’’… We felt like Asura was a played out, boring character that would get laughed out of any gym outside of Tokyo. We wanted to bring him into the real world, give him an image that people could not only enjoy, but also identify with." - Tameem Anchoviadakilas.<br><br>Introducing AW: Asura’s Wrath: Wrath of Asura 2, a breathtaking story following Asura, an orphaned demi-god that escaped from the grips of his god-controlled orphanage to fight against their grip on modern day New York. Further streamlining the combat, AW: Asura’s Wrath: Wrath of Asura 2 features stance based combat, with Asura being able to make use of a Demi-God and Gohma Stance, allowing him to switch between QTE styles and perform amazing platforming feats. Alongside the amazingly deep, but still-somehow-easily-picked-up-by-casuals QTE combat, AW: Asura’s Wrath: Wrath of Asura 2 features a unique realm known as MANTRO, a series of scungy metro tunnels that warp and transform as Asura travels through them, making for an edgy visual feast.<br><br>Soundtrack by Skrillex.

Yeah Capcom is shitty now but who the fuck isn’t hype for Deep Down AKA next gen Dragon’s Dogma 2 and especially Remember Me?<br>

There’s no advertising for Remember Me and it’s coming out soon. Everyone is looking at the title and answering “No” and they will feel the same when they see it on shelves.<br><br><br>

I agree with not milking the MM series but after all the cancellations we’re at the point of “Why would you cancel that?” and “What do you have to offer to replace those highly anticipated games” (MML3). They would have been better off not telling us those games were coming out. Sure, people would ask why are there no games being made but I’m positive the backlash would not be as strong as it is now. I’d be more believable the series was on a break if nothing was in the works, instead we have iOS games.<br>
