Capcom announcing 2 new games at PAX in March

lol ya I was gonna say, the megaman series has def had its 3D forray, and it was successful.

I think there just comes a point where you can’t reinvent a franchise anymore. MM has appeared in rpg form, fighter form, 2.5D platformer…

MM is one of my favorite franchises but come on, everythings been done! just do MML3 or nothing
<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>IIRC They even had a prototype/mini-prequel side-game ready to release but they decided to keep it back since the full MML3 was canceled :(

<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>When you have have a franchise as popular and diverse as Megaman evolution is much important and wanted than innovation. I’d be a sucker for 3DS sequel/successor series to Megaman Zero or Battle Network but that’s probably not gonna happen.

That’s what they are doing though. Nothing :frowning:

It’s called EX Trooper
hey, id rather have nothing than some cash grab shovelware MegaMan card battle shit or something

every underperforming MM title weakens the franchise and this insane notion that MegaMan fans are owed regular releases encourages that crap

altho they should throw them a bone for the disgusting blaspheme that was MM in SFxT
No MM is better than a bad one and no one should have faith that Capcom would do a good one. So they’re doing you a favor for putting MM on the shelf.

3d Mega Man outsourced to an American company!!!

Quick name the company that does it for a hundred points!!!
Ninja Theory.

I actually think franchises should die from time to time. Or at least go on a long hiatus where we need them back. Mega Man is one of those franchises. I’d rather see something great that was maybe short lived or had a great sendoff rather then it going on and on and on (Insert The Simpsons joke here).

Ninja Theory presents…Mega May Cry!

Man, my PS2 era self would be excited as fuck for anything Capcom related.

Now I’m terrified of what thing I enjoyed they’re about to kill.
Dino Crisis done RE4 Style…not going to happen but I can dream.

Megaman episode 1. Each part to be paid separately. Imagine the rage!

Lol that someone diagreed with Po Pimpus in his fuck capcom msg. Who the fuck disagrees with that?

Yeah right, some of ya’ll need to get that dissociative identity disorder in check. Claiming to be men when that capcock is all in your imaginary pussy.

In the spirit of contrarianism, I’d disagree. I think people should consider (don’t have to agree, just consider) that maybe we’re just getting older, and maybe its just that playing the 100th iteration of SF/MegaMan/whatever when you’re 25 ain’t gonna be the same as when you played the 1st iteration when you were in 1st grade, no matter how good that 100th iteration is??

Even if Capcom is responsible for some stinkers, 1) who isn’t? 2) they still created most of my favorite franchises

/devilsadvocate

I couldn’t get on board as I did enjoy a couple of Capcom’s offerings this gen. I do agree that their business practices have been shit.
Fucking thank you.

Its the same assholes crying about no Megaman in MvC3 which facilitates the shit that was Battle Network 4 and UP, the EX Star whatever series, X6, X7, X8, and the unneeded unnecessary Megaman 9 10 and xSF
But the people buying these new spins on old franchises are mostly the diehard fans. I’m not saying don’t try to appeal to a new audience but the aftermath results in old fans who ignored it being more than new people + old fans who purchased.

They need to make new IPs that fit with today’s taste.

I agree with your second statement for sure.

I’m just saying I think Capcom gets burnt more than they deserve for some of their newer entries into the older franchises. Just on these boards I think players hold them to a virtually impossible standard of preserving old game mechanics, while also introducing new ones. So many people on here sound like they’d be pleased if Capcom just visually touched up MvC2 and rereleased it until eternity than ever making a new fighting game (amirite NickGuy??). And furthermore I think people blame Capcom for their own retreating interest in fighting games. Lets be real, no new fighting game is gonna get any of us as excited as when we were still adolescents jamming in the arcades, and thats called growing up, not Capcom blowing it.
