Capcom: 25th Anniv 3rd Strike competitors?

Commentary team speechless at Ricky vs Cole. cr HP fit in there. Then said nothing seeing it work a 2nd time. “Yeah we know this, or used to know it!!”

Ricky wasn’t adjusting to Urien tall hitbox, not as wide as basically anyone else, kept going for -I think it was - close HK, turns into far hop one. Urien misttimed jungle - “just do it” (from his own corner, locked down, GDam) or not, cr HP launcher fit in there nicely to avoid and counter. Free opening without a Parry risk.

but
Yeah that 1st day was good with his HK is the only tackle strength, Urien turn both shoulders lean into the CRUSH!!

“These guys play Arcade a lot still, so we wanted to compensate them, put on those nice scanlines and arcade filters!!” Very accomodating, don’t you think? “GG no re.”

“People are missing a lot of stuff!! Maybe its Xbox vs PS3 version?! Timing differences between consoles” Not particularly, no. Maybe take a look at the filters you guys turned on…

woot yuuki and hispanicjap!

yeah. theres a pdf on the 25th anniversary site that specifies it as PS3. Sony is a sponsor unfortunately

^^this^^

kinda sick of the usual suspects

So, with more questions than answers, here’s an ongoing discussion at least

LCQ - means “Last Chance Qualifiers”

Question was on will there be any in San Francisco, where is the last spot as it can be assumed with 7 events then a finals, 8th could’ve been in San Fran on site.

Payout goes to top 16, after all 7 events? Where only top 8 Qualify… 2 SoCal spots?

Again more ?'s than answers. AfroLegends has emailed as he reported and probably talked to them in Austin for more info, this drop being the latest confirmations.

FUCK, I only have 360 controllers, not to be too far off topic, but do converters create lag?

anyone know if spectators can watch? or are they limited to watching the stream?

locked and loaded wit dat Alex

:nono:

fucking canada

I was at the texas event. It was really bad. Everything was pushed back so far. My pool was supposed to start at noon it started at 5pm. The monitors were laggy and they made you plug your sticks into a tap which made it laggier. Lame tourney but the payout is worth it if you can make top 3.

And yeah, Nica, specs can go. There dont even give you a badge.

also lol at them getting hjap’s name wrong. None of us knew how they got Wilcolm or whatever as his last name hahaha

HYPNOTIC JAPAN

This is a very new thing isn’t it? MarkMan goes and lists a generic ass Tigerdirect / Newegg thing, 4 extra ports out of 1 is terrible.

Then everybody just accepts its okay cuz EVO said so. Heard whoever gets the non Hub Port is at a clear advantage.

jesus thats pathetic. as if PS3 + monitors wasn’t laggy enough for them, they exacerbate the problem for no reason? what purpose does one of those hubs serve for 3s? I don’t understand why Capcom is so inept at running a simple tournament.

:mad::mad::nunchuck:

Too easy no fun!. you got it hold dat

did you plug this into microsoft office and click on random words and use its thesaurus? most of these people reading it are fucking idiots so why do you use big words and make them feel like an idiot. “fuck what did he say? god i feel like an idiot and i suck at 3s… maybe i should go play that game that has all girls that i get boners off of cause they are cool anime chicks… fuck these 3s cats ELITISTS thinking they so smart and so good at the game… fuck them…”

I was at the Austin tournament too, my first time at a big tourney and I was really surprised at how disorganized everything was. Registration was supposed to start at 8 am, didn’t start until 9:30 am. Pools supposed to start at 10:00 am, didn’t start until 2:00 pm, and didn’t finish until 8:30 or 9:00 pm. Even the second day, where everything was already set up, everything ran late.

I also gained an appreciation for how nice it is to have an actual 3S cabinet in town - it was my first time playing on console (and on a stick to boot), and I didn’t realize how insanely different the timings are and how laggy a console setup (especially with the 4-way ports) is until I got back to the arcade after the tournament. I pretty much spent the whole tournament blaming my awful execution and overall play on nerves or because I wasn’t used to a stick wiggling around in my lap, and then I got back to the arcade and I realized that the console setups were basically like wading through molasses in terms of lag. Really frustrating event all around.

Oh crap I grabbed more information… hard when they’re all locked threads, to be sorta impartial on this, positives and negatives.

For hubs side,

  • 5V should be able to handle everything if the equipment is good

Against it

  • Every player, homegrown or International noticed problems in play
  • Fat PS3, 2006 can get hot over the course of a Tournament extended play and not be as responsive
  • A controller / converter not name brand can be finicky and require several replugs to register at all
    – so with Dual Mods, Custom hardware, and the like can definitely confuse a USB Male to Female connection

Edits having read more about it:

– Without an outside power source helping the USB Headphones, it all powers through the one hub directly from the PS3, very taxing to the system

  • Turning Vibration OFF that does checking constantly by the Controllers and Headphones may help lower the power needed

Yeah, my crew and I went to UFO sat/sun night as well. It’s so much better on the cab you can actually react instead of trying to plan things out so fast.
