I want that to be true, but your match could not have been any closer lol, if he’d have gotten that last jump cancel into super he would have won. I think its because he’s played a lot of Yang before, he’d probably get easily beaten by a Makoto or Necro.
Thats the top player special! Chris G says that everytime without fail. I’m not hating on Chris G, but everytime he loses its not because hes worse, its because they were a game specialist or he wasn’t trying or hasn’t played the game much.

we were both under nerves lol believe me it’s true, cuz if he RLY played 3s, he wouldnt have missed that and his entire game wouldve been changed making the matches look less of a slug fest and more 3s like, it’s hard playing against a chun with fast reactions that just presses buttons, but in the end as i said True Top 3s players>>>>> top players who dont play anymore cuz then tend to miss stuff, forget things, etc etc no matter how close it is

Proud of you Nica, Ricky’s reactions are sick, but you manned up and put Ricky in his place. He practiced for that tournament. No player can honestly walk into a 3S tournament without practice and expect to win it, or not care about it.

I don’t believe in the whole “natural talent” thing. Justin Bong/Ricky/Marlin/whoever the fuck are so good because they practice for hours upon hours, have tons of experience, play other GOOD players, etc.
All you have to do is keep at it, really. I remember not being able to do something as simple as the a double QCF. Now it comes naturally because of all the practice I’ve had with it.
Also, congratulations, Nica. I missed the stream but I’m very glad you won. Ricky can touch the ass of the sun and die for being so saying some lame shit like that. I don’t care what the reason is. He should have taken the tournament more seriously and practiced (more) instead of expecting to win.
I do believe hold dat recorded some off stream matches in the semi finals or somethin but im not sure, if not then just know they were pretty good
I doubt Yi is going to be there and Pyro has lost to Ricky before. Pyro isn’t a console player, btw, so the odds are not in his favor despite his definite dominance over the AMERICAN scene now that his rival is busy doing other stuff including the fact that 3soe, even offline, isn’t any closer than ps2 3s was to arcade perfect. It would be awesome if Yi played, though. Would give me an opportunity to show him that the student has become the master.
That being the case, I think Ricky and Justin each still have a good chance to win it because they are obviously on their consoles like 15/5. They have to be, in order to play in so many different games the way they do.
As shitty as it was for Ricky to say what he said, you can’t really expect him to turn around and say hey thanks for beating me and taking away my chance to win a whole lot of money. He lives off of his video game winnings so of course he’s not going to take a loss like that lightly. That’s just silly. There’s going to be emotions involved and the simple fact that you are treating this as a “practicing vs non practicing” situation after the fact will simply help Ricky feel even more justified in what he said because you are after all repeating what he said albeit in a kind of snide manner. You only won because you practiced and he didn’t. If you’re saying it simply because he said it, as if to rub the win in his face, then you aren’t being the good sport you were expecting him to be.

of course not, thats why i said i understand what its like to lose in that situation cuz that happened to me before but the point is i didnt take my opponents victory like it was nothing, he fought hard to win coming from losers…so for Ricky to walk away and then turn around and say what he did…as well as saying other things to other players about if he practiced this or that then somethin somethin wouldve been “free” then that shows who is being the bad sport
i dont rub my wins in ppl’s faces especially the greatest of players cuz like i said i respected Ricky after the set, if i wanted to be a bad sport and rub it in his face i wouldve simply went up to him and said “OMG OMG OMG you suck for losing to me blah blah blah” but no the fact is like you said, i practiced and he didnt so he shouldn’t be expecting to win this tournament so easily and taking the win so hard, he’s still getting a chunk of money and he took 2nd place at Texas amongst other players who practiced as well
I hope Ricky gets bodied in the LA qualifier, although I don’t see many top 3s players out there showing up because of the lingering hostilities over the port. Who do you guys think will show up/qualify for the Tokyo tourney? I think I saw some videos of Boss playing 3soe, and the guys who traveled to that tourney in Australia. Might be interesting, who knows.
