I very much respect Dhalsim players, and I know that’s the reason for your hatred towards it. However, that’s why people play alts. It doesn’t help online, but who cares about that garbage? There are still plenty of even or bad matchups for the top tiers. I LOVE playing alts though, so anyone who pledges allegiance to one character is absolutely allowed to cry foul. I am very much reminded of SFII again which is extremely matchup dependent. That’s what I’m used to, and I relish it in SFIV. My fandom for SF stems from the fact that I love almost the whole cast. (screw Chun, Gen, and Blanka though) Intentional or no, (despite what Ono said, he is not the end all be all of balancing) there are 39 characters… unbalance is going to happen. I’m also one of the few that is alright with the supposed “OP” characters. At least when you know how to use Yun, he’s a blast to play. Look back at other versions… was it FUN to use sagat or rufus in vanilla? Hell no. Was it fun to play the top tiers in Super (from all the complaining I hear about Guile, apparently not.)? People like to fly around and shoot lasers out of their eyes/nostrils/etc and with how Evil and Oni look, they accomplished that… While SFIV has evolved to a predictable equation, don’t all fighting games going into their 3rd year and beyond? Especially with the internet and the ability for people to show their exploits more easily.
I haven’t played any post patch MK, but if they nerfed Kung Lao, good. lol

In other news I’m going to new jersey next weekend for vacation and will probably get on some PSN and get all updated on my fighting game swagg like AE, MK9 patches and maybe BBCS2 if i have enough money. So hopefully I can come back with a shiny AE alt when I hopefully begin to attend CFC in a more regular fashion.
Yes, but those are TOP players playing against people using new characters. Either way, Sim is very obviously garbage now.
@Dustin: Yea, I mean, I’ve just played a more zoning/footsie style of character since I started playing fighting games so many years ago. That’s why having that type of play style be dead in AE really sucks to me. And yes…Kung is mad nerfed, and it makes me smile so hard
Yea hes top but definitely not broken anymore. He can’t do the same damage, can’t loop divekicks as many times in the corner, and spin is like -8 on block now. Again, makes me SMILE!!!
Kinda heard Skarlet is op already. Can’t people just take into account that she’s different? I think the only new characters people didn’t think were op were Juri and Hakan. (everyone had a feeling they’d suck out of the box)
Anyways, alright guys. I have some announcements which I will be making in person tonight. Very exciting stuff. Khonsu has been working on some things as a collaborative effort with all the cities surrounding us, and I will be talking to you about my interpretation of it tonight, and ask you what your thoughts are so I can take them back to him. I also invited out an MK player tonight so let’s make sure we have at least one set up of that and make him feel welcome. He’s a good friend from college and was awesome at MKII so he might inject some new life into that side of things for us. Alright guys, see you tonight! And remember Bruce is coming by later so it’d be awesome if some of you can dial back your bed time a little bit.

Alright guys, last night was awesome. Not a lot of people, but enough to get lots of games in. We had two new guys that made the trip from Wooster last night, and they seem pretty cool. I was super pumped about yesterday, and it seemed like more than one of you was too. Keep bringing that hype energy around because it is infectious!

It’s a year off, but I’ve already decided my mains, good or bad. (just as I’ve done with every iteration of SFIV after all characters had been announced. The difference here is I have all the characters I want).
Mains: Guile/Marduk
Alts: Hwoarang/Cammy(Cammy will be replaced with Karin if she’s in)
As far as the engine goes, there does need to be more going on, but it looks like more of a footsie game and I’m perfectly content with that. Maybe slow down the timer a bit too. There is an inordinant amount of time overs.

Having a kid is no excuse! lol it’s alright and congrats man! This won’t be the last one I have. In fact, I’m thinking of having a game night EVERY night of Canal Days. (After all the festivities.) I’ll need set ups, computers, ps2’s, and whatever else. I’ll have DDR, Gauntlet, SF, Power Stone, KoF, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, basically anything competitive or co-op. If you’ve never played four player Power Stone then you are in for a treat. Get me a head count of who can make it! Starts Friday night!

tbh none of SFxT characters look catch my eye yet. Im hoping for Bryan from Tekken to make a strong showing and Yoshi + Steve(i think, Tekken’s Boxer?). As a side we should see if we can change our thread title, you guys can veto it obviously. Something along the lines of “We knock each other out of Loser’s” would be a nice change to “Go easy on us” without the scared-ness of the current title
Alright but in all seriousness our name is kind of feeble-sounding. I’m willing to put it to vote, after all Jeff has stated that he’s willing to move administrative rights over to me, if such a thing is possible. I, personally, want to call it The Whimsical World of Size, since we all seem to attach sizes to our names in our tourneys. lol Seriously though, tell me what you want and I’ll contact the proper people or start a new thread if you feel we need a fresh start.

It’ll really test the mettle of your car, and your instincts as a driver. Lol again, a reminder, that I will be having essentially a house warming party for myself om Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after Canal Days. This’ll eventually become our “summer classic” if you will.
