Glad you got signed up Dustin. Now if we could just get everyone else on here we’d be alright. Since we didn’t really get to talk about it on Monday, are you pretty much gonna bring your setup every week? I would just like to get an idea of who will definitely be bringing what with them. That way we don’t have people bringing stuff we won’t be able to use.

I won’t be here this monday, but I really think we should start doing cheap or free tournies, or pools or something. I think it would help us get better a lot quicker.

I also like the idea of cheap tournies or ranbats. This is something I have wanted to do from the beginning. My only concern is problems with people who only play pad, and who only play it on one system. I know you and Dustin aren’t going to make it on monday, but Roman said you guys might be going to his place sunday night. I’ll be there then so if you are there and have some ideas or suggestions, let me know. I’ll try to think of some things and see how everyone feels on monday.
Awesome, I’m glad to see that there are still people in our area who are interested. Whenever you make it down, bring anyone else who might be interested too. The more people we have, the better.
If the tournies are for free then someone having to play on the wrong console really shouldn’t be that big of a deal, but I see where you’re coming from. Those people can just use that as an excuse if they lose lol

What up guys? It’s good to see Canton has a budding fighting game scene! My wife and I are moving here in August after being in Columbia, SC for the past 2 years. We lived in Canton previously, which is where my wife’s whole family is from, for around 3 years. I will be attending Stark State College full time pursuing my Associate’s degree in Game Design & Development.
Since I’ve been in Columbia, I helped revitalize the scene here along with a few friends. Today, we have ranbats every month, numerious side tourneys, and we travel to many out of state tourneys including Final Round and OH’s own Seasons Beatings. I’ll do my part in helping to do the same for Canton as much as possible. Unfortunately, due to school I won’t be able to take as much of an active role on organizing as I have here in SC.
As far as equipment, I have an ASUS “EVO” 23 inch LCD monitor that I can provide for any gathering, a PS3, 360, and Wii, and copies of most fighting games for all said systems. I also have a couple sticks for various systems, one of which is dual modded for PS3/360.
I will definitely be up to host casuals at my place once I get to know some of you guys. We just signed the lease for a duplex in Canton today, so that’s good to go.
Anyways, sorry for the long-winded introduction, but I just wanted to give you guys as much info about myself off the top of my head as I could. I hope to meet you all soon!

Good games last night guys. Only a couple people showed up (I guess the rest of you were prepping for star craft?) but we still managed to get some good matches in. So we seem to have a little divide in our group regarding ranbats. Personally I think we should give them a shot here pretty soon, I’ve got a general idea of how they should run but I’m sure I’m gonna leave something out. I have talked to some of you already, but if anyone has questions or ideas, get at me. U-volt, you said you have some experience with doing ranbats so if you have any insight I would appreciate it.
I’m thinking we run a 2 month season, and charge $2 per night for anyone who wants to play. Every Monday night we have a round robin tournament where the winner of each match gets one point. At the end of the season, we pay out top 3 70/20/10. How does that sound guys?
