Okay so I have a custom stick with a Madcatz 4671(I think that was the number) wired controller. It’s all wire correctly, I know for sure because I can use it on my PC with no problem.
It’s wired like this;
controller wire > nausb > usb cord > xbox
When I plug it into the xbox 360 it flashes the ring lights on the controller like it’s searching. I hold down the home button, nothing. I even took it apart and used the actual home button to press it and still nothing.
Whether it’s the only controller or the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, nothing.

What can/should I do?
(Also, I have the new xbox slim, but I’ve tried it on multiple systems including the original)
i dont have a camera, but i absolutely know everything is hooked and wired correctly. i can use the stick perfectly on my PC, and the home button works on it fine.
I’ve tried everything I can think of, plugging it in while holding the home button, ect, ect. all it does is flash all 4 lights over and over like it’s searching i guess.
Okay, Hmm, this is quite an interesting problem. Is it just straight 360? I just want to make sure you don’t have any other mods to it. And it works fine on PC? Are you using 6 or 8 buttons? If you haven’t inverted your triggers, I know that can sometimes cause problems. Do you by any chance know the year the pad was made? And by chance, could you bring up the properties?
I don’t think the triggers were inverted. I bought it from a friend who got it at a tournament, pre wired… He payed $45 i think. would the year be on the pcb? how would one go about inverting the triggers?
also, yes it’s just the 360 pad. just to double check since i hadn’t hooked it up to pc in a while, i did, and it works perfectly, including the guide button.
i do have a ssfiv fightpad that i just bought brand new, but i bought it for friends of mine that use pad… so i’d rather not open it up… but i guess if all else fails.
But, it looks like you bought a pre-pad hacked model?
On your PC, can you pull up the control panel, then under printers and other hardware, and game controllers, then properties? Are you using the trigger buttons? Because one of your axises should be near-centered, and if you press a trigger, it should move all the way. Sometimes some shortages on these can cause some problems on the 360.
If it shows up on the PC, then try to plug it into the 360 using that cord that normally plugs into the inside NAUSB jack. If that doesn’t work, the only thing I can think of is the security chip is dead and you’re boned.
Yeah, that’s what it sounds like. Your triggers don’t need inversion, that’s why I was curious about the buttons. That’s fine. I’d say you’ll just have to replace the PCB with your fightpad.
