I wouldn’t say that, man. I think I gave a decent example up there but this is just my own personal opinion and nothing more. Its no secret that some players are easier to use because of their tools, and if you ask me I think Hawk and 'Gief are the hardest to master.
Pianoing just means hitting hitting each button in a row, but not at the same time. So if you did a reversal srk, you would do the motion and then hit lp, mp, and hp, just not all on one frame.
What is the benefit of it? Thanks, Coth!
If you go for a reversal, then you have six chances for a reversal since you have 3 presses and 3 negative edges, and only one of those needs to land on the reversal frame for you to get a reversal.
Ok, so to clarify: if I’m going for a reversal Thrust Kick --> F, D, DF + lk > mk > rh??? And the kicks are pushed in sequence one after the other? Thanks!
Yup, it works like a charm…

Includes pianoing and safejumps. Really great video.
Yeah, I have actually watched that tutorial… at least 10 times. Actually there’s a great SF 3S tutorial which explains alot of stuff too really well and actually diagrams the joystick and button pressing while its being done. But David’s explinations are really good.
Cammy’s tools are unique and are hard to get the most out of, but I think her greatest advantage against 70% of players is that they don’t see enough of her to know the matchup well… the problem is for the 30% who do, you have to dig really deep into the bag of tricks… hence to playing Cammy is much more about mindgames and reading your opponent and punishing then it is about tools for me. Cammy can win chess matches against anyone in the cast, what she can’t win is a straight up brawl.
The Shenmue one ?

Yep that’s the one. it’s actually nice because there’s great stuff that applies to SF2 and there’s great stuff that applies to SF4 and then there’s stuff that’s 3S unique, but I learned Kara grabbing for Makoto from that video… I never understood it until I watched that and then bam, Kara Karakusa all over the place…
Now if only I could download into my brain how to use this stupid stick… I’d be onto something! I couldn’t do combos effectively with Cammy on pad, but I could think through matches, well I can do them on the stick, but I can’t get my specials to come out consistently… just takes practice…
A wildly Ken can be a tough match but Cammy can definitely over come. Best bet against Ken is keep in range where when he tries to Hadoken you can walk up and C MK him out of it. His Hadoken startup is super slow so I can do this on reaction.
Actually keep walking forward and hit him with C MK from a distant which will force him to block it. He can’t throw Hadokens, and his Jab DP will whiff which you then poke him with a C MK which will hit if he’s in the air or he will be force to block if he lands, and you start all over again.
At some point he will try to jump or hurricane kick out of this. But you will be in perfect distant to C Fiere Punch him out of Hurrican Kick, or Thrust Kick him out of a Jump.
ken is one of cammy’s hardest matches if you ask me, all due to spacing and the slow fire ball
Yeah, I personally believe that the Ken matchup is harder than Ryu for Cammy. Ken’s fireball is slower combined with the increased reach on his Fierce SRK makes it tough, but like was said, you have to be patient. Move up, play good footsies, and PUNISH mistakes. The matchup is in his favor for a reason, he has tools that out ‘chess’ Cammy’s tools, but like if anything if he makes the wrong move, you can make him pay and push him back and trust me, Ken in the corner is not near as intimidating to Cammy as Ken in the open.
^Ken in the corner is also not as scary as Ryu in the corner, IMO.
What? Why would ryu be scarier than ken?
Ken’s srks don’t suddenly lose functionality and you can’t crossup either of them. That just sounds weird.
His red FB is what makes him more dangerous when up close IMO
I suppose, ryu can be god tier above 120ms or so. Just because it becomes so damn hard to walk and block his fierce hados.
Ken in the corner is MUCH scarier than Ryu. I’m able to keep Ryu’s locked in the corner with st. fierce and hesitating cannon drills, but Ken’s SRK can save him in a whim.
I think they are both pretty easy once cornered. I NEVER get hit with Ryu’s SRK or fireball. And while Ken SRK can stop my shenanigans (Crouching MK, drill + TK or drill + Spinning Fist) he has to blindly throw a reversal SRK. Only some opponent can throw SRK that quickly, and after the first time you know they will do it ALL the time…so just pause and wait for that SRK and drill his ass, rinse repeat.
Well that’s the thing. Because Ken’s SRK is so good…it can be a double-edged sword. He will be wanting to do it. So I find it easier to bait out an SRK and then punish him. With Ryu, if you’re not in range of hitting him, even if you’re a margin outside of cr. MK or whatever you want to hit him with, his FB will hit you and you’ll get pushed out again.
