Cannon Spike! The Cammy Thread

Actually, yeah. I hate using a joypad, but when I must, I find the analog stick far better for pulling off moves consistently.

shrug

I think I’m gonna have to learn to use the analog stick, despite the fact I find it too sensitive. My Cammy would improve 10x if I stop whiffing cr. medium into Hooligan. UGH. Lost a couple matches because of the whiffing, and with Cammy you can’t make any mistakes.

I use the analog. You’ve seen how I play. :stuck_out_tongue:

I use the D-pad

PS1 d-pad!!!

I smashed my controller in a rage related incident (not SF related) and ended up getting a new pad but keeping my broken in d-pad and it still works great.

I wish there was a way to use my controller on the 360.

Holy Crap! That is weird, i seriously thought i was the only cat out there (much less cammy player!) who uses a ps1 pad lol that might explain a few things. . .Good taste in controllers though!

Looking at your videos…I just have to say…that’s crazy mad skill you got goin’ on there, then. Your pad is better.

My Cammy is just getting better and better! However, I still have problems with one particular matchup: the charge turtles. What do you guys usually do to get inside on Guile and Dee Jay? Once I get inside its usually hell for them, but I’m a huge victim of jumping over projectiles only to get hit with slides, and so forth.

^^

I remember reading earlier in the thread that jumping straight up and then walking forward is a better option against them. That way, you can either block, psychic :lk: Thrust Kick, or even psychic mixup Hooligan Combo Grab/Slide on your way in. From there, you need to bait them into something unsafe. Much easier said than done, but you need to somehow get in range to play with her poking mixups. Cr.:mk:, st.:mk:, :lk: Cannon Drill, psychic :lk: Thrust Kick, and the occasional Hooligan Combo Grab will help. Just remember to be as unpredictable as possible.

Fighting those two with Cammy is not easy.

cammy has 2 good options of getting over projectiles, and they aren’t jumping

One of which you do have to anticipate a projectile is coming tho and the other is more effective at close range.

Spinning Backfist and Hooligan Combo, I’m guessing? I can’t see YouTube from work.

Yeah, I use those moves but ineffectively. I think its because I haven’t mastered walking forward into a quick knuckle. Looks like that’s next, thanks!

Man, it’s been too long since I played HDR. I have to get used to this version of Cammy again after playing a lot of SF4. Got spanked by Blitzfu a few times.

Just got to see the video you linked. As usual, your Cammy is just niiice.

I need to apprentice under you for a bit when you get your ps3 working again syxx

Is there any way to counter a meaty headstomp from dictator? Reversal thrust kick loses cleanly…any other options?

not trying to be a smartass but in that situation I think blocking is the better part of valor, if you want to trade though give standing close MP a try

:stuck_out_tongue:

Well I mean what if you’re on your last leg of life and a blocked special would kill you…are you screwed (unless you had a super)?

that is why I always say it’s important to save your super for getting yourself out of sticky situations like that!!! and besides this can happen in other cases where shotos can kill you with a fireball on wakeup even when you block it (invincibility from spin knuckle isn’t instant for example)

Yeah, I usually do save my super. I’m just wondering if that’s the case, where you have no super…I guess you are screwed. Are you sure about the spin knuckle? I could have sworn I’ve reversal SBF’d on a meaty fireball on more than one occasion…
