He has explained. Low strong, low forward–>MK Drill or HK Drill is not consistent against certain characters when they are either crouching or standing. For example, crouching MP, crouching MK–>MK or HK Drill doesn’t work at all against a standing Chun-li. It does work if she’s crouching though. She also can’t combo low strong, low forward–>MK or HK Drill against a crouching Guile, though it does work if he’s standing. Crouching MP, crouching MK–>LK Drill does work against a crouching Guile, though.
Anyways, this makes her close range options somewhat inconsistent in certain match ups, which is what Buk is concerned about. The combos she has to fall back on are balls; low strong linked into crouching HK isn’t going to scare anyone. Close standing HP–>crouching HK works consistently in some of the previously mentioned spotty cases (like against Guile), but doesn’t work against a standing Chun-li.
ya u can’t relay too much on BnB, i’m thinking more like, if you block something super unsafe, just sticking with crouching short, cannon drill might just be the best overall option if you want to get guaranteed damage without having to guess on the spacing and if a better combo is going to work or not.
As for comboing into the super… eh i can do it but… you’re life is so low in this game, i actually prefer to save the super for it’s invincibility properties, rather than having to chain it into combos, i think i’d much rather prefer to go for a combo that would give me a dizzy than struggling to get the super off in a combo, and then saving it for a rainy day… if that makes any sense. Thrust kick can’t beat everything.

Doing absolutely anything with Cammy (or any other character) in this game with the assumption that it’ll work the same as CvS2 is a really bad idea. They’re very different games in almost every respect.

It’s just a combo I use. The reason is because I like to negative-edge the cannon when I get the opprotunity. Often times I do her 2-in-1s by negative-edge, so it’s kindof become a default for me.
Not to say c.mp could be better, or even c.mp->c.mk to try for stun, my execution jut isnt that good. Need to do alot of work on my combo-technique, so I make sure the few I do use are as easy to execute as possible.

Blocked it is still a nice offensive string with l.forward spacing you out for some mind games. Nice spacing for hooligans, another l.forward (which can lead to cannon drill pressure), s.forward (iirc…need to check it again). shrug
I’m a fan of S.strong. It has a lot of nice set ups both up close and as an anti-air (when the occasion arises).
what’s l.forward? lunging? leaping? loving? i don’t get it…

WTF. I cannot get Low Strong, Low Forward XX Roundhouse Cannon Drill to Combo anymore. The Cannon Drill can be blocked. I mean, I haven’t tried in Training Mode, so I’ll have to do that, but I couldn’t get it to connect in a bunch of matches I just played tonight. I’m not sure how the heck that happened. I don’t think Sirlin did anything to the start up of the Cannon Drill. I need to experiment some more to see what’s up.

Oh my lord, thank god I’m not the only one that seems to have problems with this. I can hit it a couple of times, but my consistency is really shitty with it.
I kept my mouth shut because I thought it was my own execution issue, but yes, I noticed this as well.
Has the combo become character specific now?

For some reason I don’t think c.strong, c.forward xx rh cannon drill will work as a combo unless you are hitting them point blank with the c.strong. If you hit them further away with the c.strong the cannon drill gets blocked, and thats bad, very bad.

i like the c.mp x 2. i find that it connects more often… but it could just be the way i approach the buttons.
