Canadians are put on wait

I’m told we’re getting it on monday if you pre-ordered from EB Games.

My rage knows no bounds right now. I’ve been waiting for this game for a year and a half, and I get this. I better get a discount or something.

Fuck Canada Day.

Damn it…I think I might just wait till Monday. Whether I order online or wait next week, I have to wait, unless I can find it in a store somewhere. I just hope EB actually gets it on Monday.

It’s a bad week to be Canadian, I’ll give you that. Biggest release date screw up I’ve ever had to deal with. One or two days, I’m okay. But here, the game is delayed for almost a week in some parts and now people are saying some stores won’t start selling them until the 29th?

Somebody somewhere screwed up big time.

Anyone tried if blockbuster got the game?

I’ve been waiting and waiting. I got all excited twice for nothing…I even got up earlier than i usually do to pick it up.

Sigh… canadians get the shaft all the time. TE sticks anyone?!

Hope the GameNorth article is true so that I don’t have to hate Aksys over this.

Yeah, because I want that LE, which I’m not getting if it’s delayed to the end of the month since then they’ll just give out the regular version. God Dammit.

I’d stop buying from EB, but they’re the only retailers around here, and buying online means I have to wait 2 weeks for shipping. Ugh.

Man, this is a pretty bungled release for a good game.
First, no European release, and the game is region locked, so they can’t even import it. Now the Canadian shipment gets held up.

I think most of us are wishing we’d just ordered online instead, but shipping from the US to Canada is stupid expensive. A delay 'till Monday is sort of acceptable, but waiting 'till the 29th is downright stupid. Although, to be fair, this is more EBgames fucking up than Aksys.

I’m not convinced. So far I’ve heard that the games are held at the border and that Aksys didn’t supply enough games.

So far the speculation implies that it’s the fault of all three.

Aksys: didn’t print enough copies
Canadian distributor: held up at the border
EBgames: possibly misinterpreting the US release date for the standard edition and telling people it’s coming out on the 29th, proceeding to scare the shit out of everyone

Microplay on Bank street in Ottawa is expecting something like 10 copies per system tomorrow, at least 5(ps3) are spoken for.

Noon-ish according to them.

Seems like the best bet.

Well I just called my EB Games right now and they told me that the game was delayed until the end of July (In other words the 28th or the 29th) Whether this is their misinterpretation of the release of the standard edition game release date or not, I don’t know.

All I know is that I pre-ordered this game three months ago and from the looks of it, the game is going to be more than a week late. Now I’m officially pissed.

Would be splendid if the Aksys rep could step in here to shed some light on the fiasco.

I just got off the phone with the manager for the EB close to my house and he said Monday at the earliest. One of the workers said the 29th when he cut him off and was like “No that’s the regular edition. It’s a different SKU. All of the pre-orders were for the collectors”. He told me to check back on Monday or just wait for the call.

So long story short, Monday at the earliest.

Edit: He also said he was expecting it in today’s shipment but it obviously didn’t come so the Gamenorth article is most likely speaking truth and it simply got stalled at the border.

Just to be clear, were large retailers like Future Shop and Best Buy (of Canada) intending on carrying it? The only reason I preordered at EB was because the websites for the previous stores never acknowledged the existence of the game, so I assumed they weren’t getting it.

I had already called Futureshop today, the guy actually said they had BlazBlue in stock on June 30th but it sold out, and that they might be getting more on Monday. And yeah I found it strange considering I couldn’t find the game on futureshop’s website.

I can’t even tell you how freaking bummed I am about this. First June, then July and now the end of July? I bought this game to keep me playing till KOF came out, I so bloody sick of SFIV, and the bazillion shoto players.

:bluu:

I pre-ordered my copy of BB online through EB Games so I can get that limited edition artbook… To my surprise, UPS guy came to my door on the 29th of June at around 10am with my copy of BB!

I guess I lucked out…
