Likely flame ahead, but this was the only potential place I could think of that could potentially reach people with enough power to do something about it.
I’m sick of Canada being lumped into “international” when it comes to ranked matchmaking in Capcom fighters. (here comes the flames, “zomg online is for nubs”, etc etc)
Please for the love of the deity of your choice change it so the “same” region, when playing from Canada, is North America, and matches you against people from the states.
Playing SF4 or UMvC3 online results in only being able to play with people from France/Asia, near impossible to get matched against someone in the states with an even remotely decent ping.
Dunno about Marvel (dunno why anyone would care either since online Marvel is ridiculously bad) but SFIV doesn’t fuck up with geography. If you set the region restriction to same, you’re gonna find people in Canada only. Its your internet being shit (and to a lesser degree, the US infrastructure generally being not amazing), not the match making. Well that or you run into a lot of people who use a fake location for marketplace content. You can look for games with the region lock disabled anyway (again, on SFIV anyway.)
Pay up for that better ISP or start playing offline.
Hmm didn’t know the marketplace address had to do with it? (thought they used the IP/ISP to determine location)
Problem with “same” is there arent enough people from canada who even play lol. Its not uncommon to sit in searching for opponent for 10 minutes, and if by some miracle you do find someone, they’re the only person you’ll get matched against come another game.
Unfortunately my ISP is fast enough as well on the off chance I do get a US player, pings are great, match runs well. Its the other 99% of the time playing people from UAE that I feel like never playing again
Thanks for the actual serious response though, I knew there would be a pile of flame
