Once again, Canada Cup Gaming is looking to bring together the best Street Fighter players in the world to battle it out for the annual Canada Cup tournament! Regional teams from across the globe will also be competing again in our famous Canada Cup Super Street Fighter IV International Team Tournament to see which country is the best!

Last year was amazing, but this year will be even better!

FORMAT & RULES
ALL GAMES WILL BE RUN ON XBOX CONSOLES
ALL TOURNAMENTS WILL BE IN THE FOLLOWING FORMAT UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED
$10 Entry Fee
Double Elimination Tournament
2 out of 3 rounds per game
2 out of 3 games per match
3 out of 5 games per match in winners, losers, and grand finals

No wireless controllers are permitted in the venue
Game-freezing glitches or bugs are not allowed, and the offending player will forfeit the round
All pauses or other interruptions must result in a judge to be notified when it occurs, and will be resolved at the judge’s discretion

*** UMVC3 will be 3/5 games per match, throughout the tournament.

This will be available until Wednesday night, prices are the same as the late registration below.

Thursday, October 25th we will be doing a limited last minute player registration at The Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre from 6:00PM – 10:00PM at the West Entrance. The venue itself will conditionally closed to the public for setup that night, but passes can be picked up at the door during this time. If we are ahead of schedule for setup, we will open the venue to casual play! Please be aware that the venue fee will increase to $60 for all late registrations, and $200 for VIP (subject to availability). This is a one time offer and will not be extended to Friday morning as brackets will have already been finalized.

As previously mentioned, spectator passes will be available all weekend long at the main desk:

Full weekend pass: $30
One day passes: $15
VIP: $200
**Please note that Children under 10 get in for free with a valid adult pass and all persons under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

VIP Pass includes free food and drink at the event, priority seating, access to VIP room, access to after-hours Salty Suite(s), free entry into CCG after-party with free drinks and alcohol.

We are entertaining the idea of doing a Marvel 5-on-5 this year as well!

Yessir, we are strictly xbox.

It would be nice to have a 5v5 Marvel tournament as supporting event for AE.

In reality though you would have to limit the teams to like 4. USA, Japan, Canada and another (Mexico, EU/AU or a World All-stars). And you’ll have to get the highest quality of players for each team so it doesn’t water down the tournament and just be a total blow out.

Maybe have a USA vs. The World if the 5v5 doesn’t happen?

2/3 per match to extend the tourny?

Unlike AE where all over the world and little known communities like Kuwait and Dominican Republic (two teams I hope you guys will have this year) can compete with the best of them, Marvel is mainly NA with some other pockets around the world.

If you guys can somehow get KuSORU to go to the event that within itself will generate a lot of talk. And there’s a chance too he’ll come if you give KuSORU the title of a captain and have him hand-pick his Japanese team. Having KuSORU at the event (with someone else like Rei-Chan if that’s even possible) and other Japanese in such a tournament would not have AE totally overshadow UMVC3. USA will be in an official 5v5 for Marvel, add in the KuSORU interest (and maybe Rei-chan) and possibly other countries like Mexico can really make UMVC3 interesting. AE can be really interesting as long as you have enough of the underdogs yet quality countries like Kuwait, Dominican Republic with the already obvious Japan, Corea, USA EU big does with other sleepers like China!

Canada Cup has the most potential after EVO to be the best event of the year! Hope you guys can pull off all the big guns!

Edit: Another idea is if you can get a sponsor to sponsor a special show match between F. Champ vs KuSORU FT15 that could be really exciting. ECT4 RayRay vs Fanatiq was the most exciting thing about it and though perhaps it wouldn’t be their own money or that it’s not a Canadian, it can still be really hype. Perhaps advertise it with interviews, analysis to build it up during the Road to Canada Cup. Just a couple of ideas if the 5v5 for Marvel doesn’t work out (=^.^=)
