My votes for this. Just alternate back and forth between coasts and then that coast can fight it out for who hosts it.
I think there will always be bitching
West coast event = Eastern Canada feels excluded
East coast event = Western Canada feels excluded
I think the best, and probably most ambitious way to do this would be to have a Canada Cup East, and a Canada Cup West. This would take a really strong effort on both coasts, but would keep a nice rivalry between the two without it coming down to everyone getting salty about it.
Brockville
I’d personally be willing to shell out 40$ if the scope is as big as the last one. I mean if I can drop that for EVO, I will sure as hell drop that to support someone who’s trying to do something like this in Canada.
Nemesis.
I like that idea
Or alternatively, maybe these cities have connections/deals that would allow lower/same venue fees without losing money. I think a lot of this will depend on what kind of support the event would have in terms of organization and volunteers.
Hey Lap, would this require financial investments from that organiser as well? or are you covering all financial aspects? (this doesnt mean we dont want to, just want all the details).
West in Vancouver
East in Toronto
I think more than anything it comes down to which city is going to put in the most work. As far as the Canada Cup 2010 went the hours I spent on it were second only to Lap and to pull off something like this requires two things more than anything else: Time and Money. If you don’t have people working behind the scenes 20 - 40 hours a week for a good month or more before the event it will fail.
I know that here in Calgary we did put in the work and we can and will again.

We will still need a lot of the Canada Cup 2010 staff to attend because it has just been a success with them.
i agree with dirgesong. i would love for Canada Cup to be a yearly thing in Calgary considering how extremely well it went.
but i understand business is business and if it must be elsewhere, i think it should be in Vancouver.
Well the main organizers will have to be there Greg, Troy and + that Citys main tournament organizer. There will not be any financial requirement needed.
hahahah I’m no top tier Sim, but I run a mean event lol.
I’ve never wanted to actually see someone get beaten to death until I read your posts.
Honestly, the guys who ran the tournament did a good job, but everyone else in calgary was garbage. Not only did you guys get walked on, you shit on your own players and acted as if you were the only players in the country. Come to the east coast and get shit on.
Oh and your commentary was like listening to a retarded child reading out loud.
Geography wise, Calgary 1st, Toronto 2nd , Montreal 3rd.
Vancouver is a great city but it’s too far west for most players and HST is lame.
Also the date of the tournament has to move up. We got lucky with the snow
shit! my self esteem!
I don’t get it
Toronto.
I’d say Ottawa being the capitol and all but I doubt we have any venues big enough that won’t cost you $TEXAS. There’s no reason to leave this event in the west where you alienate 90% of the top players in this country, if anything bounce back and forth… 2010 was Calgary, 2011 Toronto, 2012 Calgary, etc…
Trust me, that opinion is shared by more than just the east coast people.
lol get fucked ******
