Galford had an izuna drop if in Samurai Showdown if I remember correctly.
The guy from Tenchu who’s name I forget had an Izuna drop.
I’m lame for mentioning this but Metaknight and Kirby both had an Izuna drop in Brawl.
Here’s a ridiculous izuna drop for your viewing pleasure.

Morrigan’s got her Vector Drain.
Hattori Hanzo and Galford of Samurai Shodown
First of all, the move is called Spinning Piledriver. The fact that Vega’s one was named after Mt.Izuna doesnt means that every spinning piledriver should be named after it, lol. Hanzo’s one is called Shrike Drop for example, after the shrike bird.
You can as well try to name all forward dive moves Psycho Crushers, and all fireballs Hadoukens though
Wait what??? No
Zangief’s move is a spinning pile driver.
I think its pretty much known that specific move is called an Izuna Drop
You named already but No one beats Ryu Hayabusa

And does Tizocs count?
Well, my point is that all special moves of same type should be called by universal term, which should not be confused with names of any of those moves.
Example:
Ryu’s Hadouken - a projectile (self-explanatory)
Guile’s Sonic Boom - a projectile (self-explanatory)
Ryu’s Shoryuken - an anti-air move (upward-aimed move to counter jump-ins)
Haohmaru’s Kogetsuzan - an anti-air move (upward-aimed move to counter jump-ins)
Raiden’s Torpedo - a forward dive (he dives forward to attack)
Dictator’s Psycho Crusher - a spinning forward dive (he dives forward to attack, and spins during that)
Claw’s Izuna Drop - a spinning piledriver (term from wrestling - a move that takes opponent into air, then drives his head into ground, spinning in process. It doesnt matters how attacker’s body is positioned, since term piledriver is used for any type of move described above. There are many kinds of piledrivers, which all drive opponent’s head into ground from some height)
Hanzo’s Shrike Drop - a spinning piledriver (term from wrestling - a move that takes opponent into air, then drives his head into ground, spinning in process. It doesnt matters how attacker’s body is positioned, since term piledriver is used for any type of move described above. There are many kinds of piledrivers, which all drive opponent’s head into ground from some height)
Now compare those explanations to this:
Ryu’s Hadouken - a hadouken
Guile’s Sonic Boom - a hadouken
Ryu’s Shoryuken - a shoryuken
Haohmaru’s Kogetsuzan - ashoryuken
Raiden’s Torpedo - a torpedo
Dictator’s Psycho Crusher - a spinning torpedo
Claw’s Izuna Drop - an izuna drop (although not self-explanatory, I will take a guess that all moves that drop opponent from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Izuna belong to this category)
Hanzo’s Shrike Drop - an izuna drop
or
Guile’s Sonic Boom - a sonic boom
Ryu’s Hadouken - a sonic boom
Haohmaru’s Kogetsuzan - a kogetsuzan
Ryu’s Shoryuken - a kogetsuzan
Dictator’s Psycho Crusher - a psycho crusher
Raiden’s Torpedo - a non-spinning psycho crusher
Hanzo’s Shrike Drop - a shrike drop
Claw’s Izuna Drop - a shrike drop
This is how your logic looks to me.
Basically, special move can be named after general type of attack it resembles, but not vice versa. We dont call all automobiles “fords”, and we dont call all superheroes “batmans”, and we dont need to call all special moves of certain type after specific name of special move of specific character.
Actually an Izuna Drop IS different, mainly because with a regular piledriver you’re right-side up and the opponent is about to get crushed. The Izuna you’re either in a german suplex position or just upside down with the opponent.
So basically you say that the move named Izuna Drop, which belongs to character Claw (and other special moves done in similar fashion), should be instead described using some of the following terms:
“reverse position spinning piledriver"
or
"upside down spinning piledriver"
or
"suplex~spinning piledriver”
(Hanzo’s Shrike Drop in Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny" contains full german suplex animation after all)
With that I can agree
Pretty much. A “true” Izuna Drop (IMMO) is specifically similar to the one Ryu Hayabusa uses now, since the one he uses is a bit more… recognizable than the one Vega uses. It’s just a name, though.

If it’s a name exclusive to Vega, why isn’t he even on the first page?
Just saying.
We didn’t say it’s a name exclusive to Vega, but using a YouTube search link isn’t the best way to prove something one way or another other than how popular something is.
Well it IS listed as an in-game technique in Ninja Gaiden, so that should count for something, right?
