Can you mod a JLF with a rubber grommet?

Just wondering if it would be possible to mod my JLF with a rubber grommet instead of buying a Korean stick?

Has anyone done this? Thanks.

Unlikely; and even if it was possible to put in the rubber grommet, there’s no guarantee that it would feel like a Korean stick, and the work needed to make it function properly is probably not worth it anyways.
Why is this even something that’s being considered? Just buy the Korean stick and save yourself any trouble/headache/whatever.

Well I’ve seen the Korean parts thread where it seems everyone is wanting to mod their Korean sticks with different shaft lengths, actuator diameter (and material) and grommet hardness + material.

When you get after-market modifications of those items the only real thing you’re keeping standard is the microswitches (which I’ve seen some changing even) and the housing of the lever itself.

To me it seems counter-intuitive to buy a Korean stick just to change every functional part inside of it, so it makes me wonder about the viability of a rubber grommet in a JLF as a replacement to springs seeings as the JLF has become the standard stick found inside sticks for the Western market.

Same is true for jlf. You can change shaft, actuator size, spring tension, different switches/do away with switches and go optical,balltop/battop.
In the end ,no matter what stick, modifications to a stick exist to to suit the user’s preference.
Anyways…
If you want more resistance in a jlf go for a 4lb spring.

It’s not just about the resistance; if you’ve ever tried one, the rubber grommet provides a whole different feel to the joystick.

It’s one thing to buy a joystick and tweak it with parts to make it suit your needs.
This would be like buying a car, but changing the tires, tinting the windows, lowering the chassis, adding in a spoiler.

It’s a whole other thing to try to mod joystick-A to work/feel/operate like joystick-B.
This would be like buying a gas-powered car, but ripping out all the innards and putting in an electric engine to make it work like an electric car.
