Can We Just Get This Out There? Rage Quit Hell Does Not Exist

what’s the point of having a good win/loss record? i don’t know why people care so much about rank. I just like playing the game. If there is a disconnect, I say both people should get their win percentage lowered just like in TvC.

I’ve had my internet go out a few times. I always apologize and give the guy the option to try and find each other and I’ll just let him wail on me for his win. It does happen.

Its not about having a good win loss record, its to deter people who care about it from quitting.

People quit to preserve their rank, if you know that quitting is a lost just as guaranteed as not quitting the least you can do is try to learn why youre losing and not being a bad sport.

so you are saying if you practice fighting games it impairs your socials skills oh

-He likes the game more than you and spends more time than you on it. Doesn’t mean it’s all he does with his life. Grow up.

-Because playing more than you means people don’t go out at all. Grow up.

-Playing for fun and then ruining it for others. How nice. Again, grow up.

That’s what happens in these types of games, you have trash who think they are good by using cheap tactics and rage quitting when they lose.

Well I’m pretty sure every game that can do so gives disconnecters a loss and their opponents a win, and Capcom ain’t no fools. But is MvC3 played P2P like GGPO is? In that case it’s impossible to determine who left and who didn’t. I think it’s just technological limitations at play here.

Really though, I say, if you can’t do anything else, give both players a loss. Yes it sucks. But it will stop people quitting to preserve their record. Now maybe assholes will quit to fuck with you. Maybe that pyrrhic victory is all you get. But hey, at least the other guy loses, right?

Or perhaps, if the game ends by disconnect, it should check whether each player is online, and if one is and the other isn’t, the online guy gets a win and the other a loss. Dunno if this could check quickly and accurately enough, but it’s a thought.

On the other hand, if online rankings don’t really matter, and if the netcode ain’t as good as GGPO, who cares? You know you won. Don’t matter if the system admits it. And you know, you oughta be playing offline anyway.

that’s EXACTLY what i’m saying, thanks for clarifying.

thanks for your input…

i think my point has been made, keep working on those combos y’all, i’ll keep shutting them down with the ol’ standby button.

Your “point” is having the attitude of a 6 year old that hates to lose. Do what you want, just know what you’re doing is immoral. I’ll never run into you anyway even if I do buy a ps3 trollolo

So, apparently everyone who plays fighting games has terrible social skills. Noted. Example from yourself? If we all had terrible social skills, we wouldn’t care about streaming stuff, there would be no tournaments. Because, you need social skills to organise anything decent, right?

You like to pull out that great ethernet cable on people who beast you. Noted. Even if you don’t think it’s a big deal, folks won’t play you again. Why is this thread caring anyway? Let the troll exercise his arm and reconnect to PSN each time he loses. Do you care about your win %? It seems like disconnecting even as a troll is more effort than it’s worth, given the time it takes to get back in again.

And that ends my troll feeding for today.

imo Capcom should just force a title and icon unique to ragequitters on their player card lol

Funny how you keep saying you have a social life and seem to have posted in this thread more than anyone else. Go get some fucking sun you nerd.

I doubt he has many friends that really give a damn about him as a person. If he’s that much of an ass in real life I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near him.

I would punch him on the face…

so heated in here, did i hit a nerve? not sure why you guys feel the need to defend your lifestyle…unless you’re uncomfortable being in the same social circle as dudes like marn and jwong…anyway, it’s been a slice.

Rough translation: ROYALEFATALE thinks people who can play games and (surprise!) have respectable careers like UltraDavid are myths because everyone who considers themselves gamers have no social skills. Therefore all gamers will stereotypically be obese males with no jobs and continually try to defend their sedentary lifestyle on a forum dedicated to helping those who want to improve themselves.

Troll feeding day 2. Troll can correct if it sees the need. I’m surprised how it can wonderously spare the time out of its glamorously decorated social life for socially inept gamers such as these.

Wait, what was the OP topic? Oh yeah, there is no rage quit hell. My added discussion point: Trolls seem to like this. I don’t blame them. It’s a poorly implemented system if it is even trying to work.

Actually you’re trying to attack everyone and trying to be a “I have a life and I’m bad at this game”, problem Sherlock, I have a life, I play this game and I’m good at it, problem?. People here got his lifes too, they work, got GF’s, everything.

Meanwhile you insist, insist that Hardcore Gaming is for no life people and try to defend something that you can’t. Another Problem, If you can’t defend, don’t try and admit that you’re wrong.

You Rage Quit, actually that is the lamest tactic of the Online gaming now, on any game, any genre. Like “I don’t want to be beated by a better player!, better pull the cord”, please Royale, grow some balls, and take the loss, you don’t loss anything, but with RQ you loss respect, something that if i’m right, you don’t have.

ROYALEFATALE, please leave the forums if you insist with this bull****, you know you’re wrong, you know that you are like everyone here, a mere mortal, and please, please, grow some balls and never RQ, learn the freaking game like everyone did.

You aint hitting any "nerves"
you’re in a video game forum where people come to learn games, and these people tend to feel that someone is an asshole when he comes into a forum where gamers are and starts talking shit about them.
If you truly dont care and you have such an amazing social life, and you have such a low concept of what gamers are, then why the fuck are you in this forum to begin with???
You seem more like a scrub who’s just trying to get attention in any other way cause clearly its not going to be because of your tournament placings… or even rank online…

And for the record, since you keep mentioning social skills, and you already mentioned Ive been here 8 years.
I’ve made tons and tons of friends through this community and I love it
Ive met people whom Ive been friends with for years now, and we travel together to tournaments, or sometimes we find each other in a major after not seeing each other for years. I once got to a tournament in a city 8 hours away without any idea of how I was gonna get back, but I knew I could find a ride in there since I know members of this community from all over the country, and they are all wonderful people. Obviously you’ve never been to EVO since you only think of gamers as a stereotype. This community is one of the most united ones since our roots are on the arcades where social skills were cultivated.

All in all, you’re a fucking asshole for just coming and talking crap on our culture when you dont know shit about it.
Call us whatever you want, but if you have such a low concept of us and you cant even take it when you lose online and blame it on the game, then at least get the fuck out of this forum and go to something related to the things that interest you.

This post is awesome.

LMAO, considering how much you talk shit about social skills it’s strange that you act like a damn 12-year-old in front of others.

Anyways, haven’t gotten many ragequits on my end, but Ragequit Hell just seems like another one of MvC3’s “robust features” that has mysteriously disappeared before launch. I wonder if Capcom meant that these features were included in Super Marvel vs Capcom 3, but I’m sure Mr. Killian will clear it up for us eventually.
