They just need to release the raw arcade version with no tweaks added because by now they should have learned from past mistakes… sf3: 3s v2 on dc & arcade got bashed hard with the unblockables taken out making oro and urien unviable when at the time they we’re middle tier with it. cvs2 had the same thing when RCs we’re discovered all characters we’re viable basically due to this one ‘‘glitch’’. Now I know a lot will still bitch about how they still can’t pull off RCs or how you could easily RC through supers like it was in the past but imo it added so much more depth and hype to the game. As a highly unlikely CvS3 it should be an snk collab using the already done sprites in kofxiii with a few additionals and using that style capcom could work on their own sprites.
I wish they would release it as an “Xbox Original”
but, there are probably a lot of licensing problems to deal with so I doubt it’ll happen. Especially considering I think microsoft published every xbox original game availible. Either way, it’s a thought.
SK or Sven already said that there was no chance of this every being re-released in the same vain that MVC2/ST was. The last re-release I think was a year or 2 ago in Japan on the Ps2.
If this actually happened at a Capcom trade presentation I would literally jump for joy.
Bringing that game to a console I actually have sticks for would make my year. I wouldn’t even ask for netplay, as long as it had local versus and training mode, that’d be more than enough for me.
I love that game above all others, real talk. Nothing else even approaches the Deuce in my eyes. Crouching fierce for LIFE.
CvS2 is still one of my favorite games of all time. The only reason I don’t play it anymore is because I no longer have a PS2 or a stick for ps2.
CvS2 brings almost all of my favorite fighting game characters together. Only game I could ever Imagine I’d like better as far as characters would be SNK vs DC lol.
Of course my hopes for that game died with MK vs DCU. .

This is pretty much killing all PS2 fighters for me right now, I simply have no way to play them.

I got lucky that SF anniversary collection works on 360, and games like MVC2 and Garou have been released on XBL. Even NGBC. I just need CvS2 and GGXX AC and I’ll be happy.

I still have my ps2 and dc can’t ever get rid of em thanks to dual mods. I recently sold my n64 though and the only game I truly miss on it was goldeneye. 3 buddies & a tiny ass tv back in the day good times ;(
Offensive? Ugh no…

That was like watching that 3s match with Tokido vs Wong… Although that whole match overall was horrible they kept messing up combos or wouldn’t be able to chip or finish each other off and getting smacked in the face instead.
Dont get me wrong I still love the game. I just dont like RC enough to say that it makes the game “better”
With RC, its not like only the low tier only gets access to it and the top tiers don’t so to me the offset isn’t good. Also for people complaining that removing RC balances the character imbalance despite that…I think its unlikely they would remove roll cancel but not do some significant character changes. So if the characters are balanced correctly to begin with…there’s no need to argue “roll cancel will help balance”.
But yeah, what I don’t like about DC version of 3S was they remove the unblockables…but they didn’t do character tweaks/nerfs/buffs to balance the cast? Its just odd; might as well have not bothered.
Had to bring this back:
In the end it’s up to you not to fall for it and it becomes part of the gameplay just like for V-isms in alpha 3. Although I feel you I personally found that it gave the game more depth with rc because it allowed more diversity in characters and a less turtlish playstyle.
They should’ve just done the same as for ST on DC & SFAA on PS2 putting dipswitches with each releases, sadly ST was a jap exclusive and SFAA was release too late due to SFA3 losing popularity.
3rd Strike and CvS2 would be great for XBLA. Alpha 2 Gold as well. Just gut PS2’s fighting game catalog so I don’t have to maintain the damn thing anymore lol.
shoo shoo shoo shoo shoo shoo shoo on hit or block
dc 3s was based on the type b arcade board which has unblockables removed so technically it was arcade perfect. it’s just that nobody plays on the b board in arcade.

THAAAAAANK YOU!!! I have LITERALLY said this very thing to my friends… Like seriously, some of the SNK characters just straight up SUCK in CvS(2). Also, can we PLEASE have more characters that actually appeared in KoF!? Samurai Shodown is cool and all but it’s a DAMN SHAME that some prominent KoF mainstays weren’t in these games. NO MEMBER FROM THE IKARI WARRIORS EVER!? Heidern, Leona, Ralf, Clark, and Whip DON’T MAKE THE CUT!? That is seriously preposterous! Straight up some of the most unique characters in fighting game history. It’s as if Capcom WANTED to suppress the most original ideas from SNK so people who never heard of them wouldn’t become fans after playing this game. (Even though some of SNK’s best were put forth in this game, they just weren’t them… Getting nerfed and their sprites alphatized… As a stand alone game this was amazing but as CAPCOM vs SNK I really think they failed)
Oh, and another thing… King of Fighters is a RUSH DOWN kind of game so WHY THE HELL IS CvS2 A TURTLE FEST!? Like seriously, Capcom fanboys complain about this and I just wanna be like "Well it’s YOUR COMPANY’S DAMN FAULT! THEY MADE THE GAME AND THEY’RE THE ONES THAT ACTUALLY HAVE GAMES WHERE TURTLING IS KING.
see this is why nobody takes snk games seriously in the usa
It even had the code to use arcade resolution and as for the lag input I still think it’s bs. PS2 is too fast and Xbox is too slow 3s just never got a good enough port like the other games.
