Can Someone watch this video and explain why this game was overlooked

???

The AI sucks? LOL. Surprise blows were still rewarding. It allowed for some rush down not usually seen in SF games. Camera is annoying, true. Doesnt have anything to do with the actual gameplay. Im definitely sad the Excel combos had to go however I do believe it allowed other game mechanics to thrive because of its departure. Its definitely not some super unbalanced game in terms of characters either. I concur with the meter building tho.

Nonetheless its a shame this series didnt a bit of time in the sun. Music was brilliant, Akira had some memorable characters, and it was the innovator for all the modern SFs.

Well there was a tournament for it a few years ago at MWC, and there’s going to be another tournament for it this may at UFGT8. Though it certainly didn’t help that when this came out the tournaments were still in a more “arcade” environment. It wasn’t until several years later that the tournament scene shifted towards console and by that time any hype that this game might have had, had long since died. Outside of several small groups throughout the US, and South America (Europe apparently as well).

Each character on your each gets their own super bar which is a max of 3. When your partner dies you get his superbar that he had built up and your max changes from 3 to 6. Each stock of super is gained at 50 point intervals. You also get super stock bonus for successful tech throws, reversals and first attacks.

That is because they were playing on the lowest damage. On the default damage the 99 second timer works fine. But for a game without rounds the players in this video felt that the fights ended too quick. So by lowering the damage you turn a 60 second fight into 180 second fight. Which then allows for more swings in the action, more comebacks and more incentive to free style.

Looking at EX3 now, I feel as though its mechanics do the “2-man-SF” thing better than SFxT does. Sure, EX3 has its flaws, but it’s much more solid gameplay-wise than a lot of the mainstream games that are released now. It keeps the fundamentals of SF fully intact while staying unique with the various tag mechanics. I wish Arika and Crafts & Meister would release another game soon. Super DBZ and the EX series were pretty sweet games.
