<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Hi guys, me again :). Just watching some old GamerBee matches and came across this one against Sabin at Seasons Beatings. I hear Chris Hu and James Chen going on about how it’s an “option select” but I don’t see it. It doesn’t seem like an option select to me (where you input a move right after your first input, so that if the first move whiffs, the second will come out, otherwise you can continue with your string - right?)</span></font><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”><br></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Mt-Wt6b53E</span></font><br></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I think they’re suggesting it happens around the 4:45 mark. So, is it an option select? And if so, how/what is it?</span></font></div>
Oh and immediately after that when that round is ending, James Chen is talking about a “safe jump roundhouse, uppercut”. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I didn’t see a safe jump set up at all, it just looked like GamerBee was just doing some a couple of njHK ‘randomly’. Hmm… maybe two neutral jumps are actually safe?
It was a safe jump, but I’m not entirely sure that it was a setup. I kinda do the same thing he does in matches, so there is possibility for it to be a setup, at least with some characters like Dhalsim. I think what he originally tried to do was jump once in anticipation of a quick rise, but Sabin chose not to do it, so GamerBee did a 2nd jump to try and bait a reversal. As far as an option select goes, there was none. He simply landed and did nothing until the move was in recovery. Hu flubbed the commentary in that one.
its pretty simple he does it alot and you probably do it to and just dont realize it. He got the dp safe jump down, but the opponent didn’t quick rise so he just jumps up again and hes still safet
