While I doubt that they’ll be hosting the next EVO event online, it would be cool if the top online players for ST:HD were invited or something. See how the online comp stacks up to the oldschool boys (and girls).

That’s not such a great assumption to make. This is a new day for fighting games. Between SF4, STHD, and TvC (not to mention new Tekken and GG), there’s gonna be a lot of new players showing up to SRK. The more of them go to Evo, the better for everyone involved.
Kids learn fast but it’s also easy to get discouraged by preconceived notions that Evo is some scary serious place. Personally i don’t think the more welcoming “show up, hang out, play games” aspect of Evo gets enough attention.
Yeah, over the months before Evo happens, we really need to get out the word better than we have before to the online- or casual-only players, especially to the best ones.

That dude should for sure go to Evo. I think he’d have fun (big surprise). Supposedly he hadn’t been involved in a SF2 tournament in years solely because so many people used to complain about “cheapness.” Bet he’d be stoked to meet more players from these here parts.
