Can Hori SC5 top panel be detached easily from the plastic base?

3 questions for anyone who owns the Hori SC5 stick or similar ones:

(1) Is it fairly easy to remove the top plate with all the controls and PCB from the plastic base? I’m interested in using these sticks to mount into a wood control panel, but don’t own any yet. I just like the layout and controls which is why I’m asking.

(2) Is it easy to change the artwork?

(3) Would this work on PC’s as well (like my Qanba Q4RAF does in PS3 mode)?

Thank you.

  1. Yes. It looks like you just need the same kind of allen wrench to open it up as a TE.

  2. Yes. You can find plexi and artwork cut options on tek-innovations.com

  3. Dunno for sure, but my guess is yes.

The MadCatz SCV stick is probably a cheaper way of getting the Noir layout. The panel is different, obviously, but it’s just a thought.

Used to use this stick. Worked fine on my PC - plug and play.

I used the TTT2, basically the same stick, on PC and it worked like a charm with one, had to config some simple stuff to make it work on another. I don’t think you will have any problems with number 3.
