A lot of SNK characters are fairly good. While none of them can rank with the likes of Blanka or Sagat, by no means can they not compete.
Iori is a mad man, very easy, high damage combos, great jump in’s and anti air, he can definitely hang with anyone.
Rugal has got insane damage on anything he does, land a low forward and that is 50% life gone.
Most of the SNK cast are fairly rounded, all of them can be used well with a little practice.
Athena has a command throw, three good normals for AA, the c.fp or doom, two easy ass combos ( short x2, psycho sword or c.fp ), an invincible level one super, a chipping super, a teleport, a fireball reflector, slowest fireball in the game, and her level 3 SCB can do 45% chip damage in the corner. She’s definitely not a rush down character, but she can turtle her ass off. I use her and her worst match seems to be Vega. She is one of the few people who can fight Cammy easily (her c.fp stuffs all Cammys normals and jump ins). So as you can see she’s actually pretty good. S-Athena ownz.
Cammy balances out the game… now 9 year olds and old ladies actually stand a chance when they walk up to the machine.

You should be very proud. I like it when Final Shodown makes threads about Ryu and Kim but instead of talking about Ryu and Kim, he loads it up with the word “fuck” repeatedly instead.
If you’re willing to put in a little thought and more effort most snk characters can be quite good. But obviously Yama, Iori, Kyo, Rugal, Geese, Rock…

Lol well i still “play” kim. I just dont play cvs2 anymore. lol but if i do kim would be on the team. =p lol anyway maybe one day there will be a cvs3… one… day… maybe… and all play again. =/ anyway usa only needs 2 kims then fuck everyone else.
I’ve been playing kim since the beggining. The two comments i get whenever anyone plays my kim is “Damnit. I hate fighting kim.” or “Wow. I like your kim.” Anyways, It’s hard to find good kim players. And kim stands a chance against to tiers. His jumping fierce beats all anti-air attempts, except for a deep tiger uppercut. He can punish blanka ball. He has above average rushdown. He can beat alot of cammy’s normals. And he can keep the pressure on with s.lk

BTW, I watched my EVL 2002 tape a few weeks ago again. There’s an idiot running around outside with his underwear over his head at the end of the tourney. The same guy played Kim against one of my friends in the tourney. You weren’t that guy were you? Just wanted to settle this once and for all between me and my friends.

how is Yuri better than Athena? and by Ibiki I guess you mean Hibiki? I’m willing to take Athena and Hibiki over Nak, Yuri any day… Hibiki and Nak are arguable, but Athena > Yuri straight up. in fact Athena is one of the SNK chars that I would even consider to use in serious play (but of course that’s just me, Geese and Iori and those are really good too, true, just not my style).
