stLP does 10 more dmg and it has quite more range. The frame advantage is the same.
The only downside of stLP is that crLk stLP isn’t a blockstring while crLK crLP is.
Can you further explain? I’ve been meaning to talk about this for a long time now.
Cr.lk is -1 on block, which would mean following up with a st.lp is a 5f gap and cr.lp is a 4f gap. However all three of them are chainable and in no way the gap is this big, but I also don’t think it’s a true blockstring.
I have no idea how these work.
crLK can cancel it’s recovery frames into crLP or stLP via chain cancel. You’re not doing crLK stLP as a link, but as a cancel, so the gap is way tighter.
But stLP has 4f while crLP is 3f, that is why you can’t blockstring crLK stLP but you can make a true blockstring with crLK crLP. The 1f made all the difference here.
Anyway, the cases where the blockstring of crLK crLP can help you will be really rare, its recommended to learn the crLK stLP as it does more dmg and its way harder to whiff since stLP has good range unlike the crLP, which is pretty useful in a game where a lot of wake up jabs push you away from them. For example, try stLK crLK crLP on wake up jab from Necalli/Laura/Ibuki etc, it will whiff, but stLK crLK stLP will nail all of them.
Not to mention that its easier to tick stLk walk stLK crLK stLP or use this in other situations that are not on their wakeup. Man, this string is the shit.
Nvm. Figured it out. Sorry.
