Cammy Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

I think most characters can jump HK into gief’s lariat. It’s when he’s crouching and waits til the last second to activate lariat when it beats jump-ins.

XX is just canceling so you convert the move into a special real fast before the move is done.

IE you said Firece Punch into CSpike so Close. S. Fierce Punch XX Cannon Spike.

If you watch it in slow motion, the special has do be done within 5/60ths of a second after doing the poke or so.

Any suggestions for developing a fake game? Some friends are telling i’m starting to become predictable and canceling the hooligan early or dashing out of FAs doesn’t always work… any ideas on how to use Cammy to frustrate oponents with a fake game?

What are cammy’s options for pressure characters waking up? How about mixups?

FA and back dash, youll be surprised how useful this basic strategy is, for example if you down like a zangief, you stand right next to them and perform a focus attack, the gief thinks he has a free spd does the input, you dash back and get a free hit in. After a while he will stop expecting you to pull of the FA and you can catch him off guard with it.

Another trick is SAing just out of its range so you stop in front of them but you dont even touch them, then watch for their counter attempt and counter that.

Well im not really good, but this is what i do and it works really well in tourneys. When i down some one i first of all watch for the persons pattern, if the person blocks alot when he gets up then just walk up and throw when they get up, after a few throws he will start throwing out dp/pokes/ultras/throw, just block/distance yourself and punish when they start this. Then they might start trying to jump away, just dp them, after this your opponent wont know what to do anymore. This works really well in the corner, i have actually cleaned a persons life bar of at once like this.

Damn the input shortcuts!

Has the input shortcuts ever given you guys trouble on combos? because it does for me. For example, I’ll try and tk spike, hp, cs and sometimes if I have a super available it’ll go to the super, other times I’ll try and combo into a spiral arrow and I’ll do a whiffed cannon spike. Is there a list of all the shortcuts? I know about the df,df = dp, are there more? And btw I’m using the HRAP3 with a square gate and I’m planning on buying the octo-gate, any octo-gate users notice a significant difference in the preciseness of the inputs?

^sometimes i do… it’s all a matter of knowing what your notations are… with enough practice you’ll come to recognize when you’re doing what… you’ll know if you over did the QCF input and do a CS instead of a SA, and you’ll stop yourself… just give it time… i used to accidentally do CS when i dashed forward cus my dash would be read as a 6 input when i was trying to SA… but now i know when i need to put a slight pause in my notations or a double tapped QCF input…

I got the Octogon and like it more because I no longer clip. The DP commands are:

DF, DF or from crouch, DF,D,DF…F,DF,F, and F or DF, B, F or DF F. I h8 it and can’t wait till Tekken 6. Because where you finish your last input comes into play, IE a dash froward or back can turn a QCF into a DP.

The one difference between octo and square is square gates have more surface space for diagonals, like DF 3 or DB 1…but ya if your just building mussle memore it is easy to clip.

I also think it is pretty silly they linked our super with cannon spike, but I never have the meter fully built up anyway.

I wish sf had an option to turn off the input shortcuts, b/c of them I’m actually thinking about dropping cammy

It’s not like other characters don’t have input shortcuts. You’re going to have the same problems.

Chargers have tons of problems with b, f, b inputs. Vega has 3 different attacks for different forwards, so good luck with Scarlet Terrors. Bison has teleport, Abel’s 2 * qcf ends up being his aa grab instead of his ultra. It’s all the same. Pretty much, you’re limiting yourself to only Gief and Blanka. Have fun with that.

is it possible for cammy to do 3 cannon-spikes in a combo if she has full meter?

i mean strike > fadc > strike > fadc > strike. i know 2 is possible just wondering about a third

If you really wanna/need to burn your meter into flashy double FADC, your best bet is CS FADCf CS FADCb Ultra
