Cammy Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

Ultra 1 is the best because you can reliably land it, I don’t think anyone would argue that. EX Cannon Strike to ultra is extremely viable. It is very easy to confirm whether or not you hit with the move and ultra off it. Just set the dummy to random guard and try for yourself. If you aren’t doing TKCS, though, then you have to be very aware of your distance because it will not combo when you hit a character up high.

most of the match ups U1 is the best option:

  • easier to land
  • CS FADC Ultra is no brainer
  • goes through projectiles
  • good punish (on block Vs certain moves)

U2 uses:

  • Rufus dive kick
  • Viper burning kicks
  • Guy (run option moves… especially elbow drop!)

TKCS or HK/EX strike into Ultra is a viable and reliable way to land ultra… especially if you are baiting throws with TKCS… if you hit meaty Strike (hitting deep, and hitting them below the waist) on their wakeup you can combo into ultra immediately… EX strike gives you a bigger window to combo into Ultra…

you can jump late strike (EX or regular)… anywhere on screen… if you hit them from the waist down Ultra will connect for total of 9 hits… :hitit:

might be a dumb question, but how do you guys do low cannon spikes in the air? I mean in terms of what inputs would you make? I can only do low ex cannon spikes, but seen in videos that people do the normal ones very low as well.

the exact inputs are in my sig.

its not dumb… its just that we get asked A LOT… lol… anyways

P1 side: :qcb::uf:+:k: = instant dive kick… or what we call TKCS

For instant CStrike you do :qcb::uf:+:k: for a delayed CStrike you can do :uf::r::df::d::db::l:+:k: (easier, and it avoids low attacks).

[EDIT]HIVE MIND lol.

lol hivemind indeed. i would note though that your listing for delayed, with that style of input i can only really get them at the earliest to be right at or above shoulder height for ryu sized characters. where as if you do the tkcs input and slightly delay the input you can do anywhere from a instant to all the way up to shoulder height (any higher and the buffer wont be active anymore). personally my favorite height is right around waist level, at that height you can catch a lot of the crouching normals characters will use to pop us out of the instant dives.

Thanks a lot guys… sorry you had to answer it again. Been using Abel since the original, but been wanting to learn Cammy for a while now. Thanks for the help.

That explains why I could never get the delayed TKCS, I was doing the wrong notation the whole time.

Ha, I was reading the Prima SG at my local gamestore the other day and flipped to the Cammy page. TKCS is actually in there.

Also, here ya go if you need to know some other basic moves.

I’ve noticed a lot of pro Cammys using LK Cannon Strike over the other versions. Can anybody explain to me what the benefits of it are over the others?

she reaches the ground sooner.

on a personal level, I also use it b/c its harder to dash/slide under. If you are using it to mix-up cross ups, its the best to use to stay on the same side since you can do it the latest.

Thanks for the help guys! Also didn’t know there was an input specific to delay CS. Just been hitting CS at the low point of my jump manually. Makes it easier now.

Cammy has no overheads? was trying to find it while playing a friend last night, and saw about 4 posts indicating that she does not have an overhead.

No doesn’t have a real one. But you can play around it and with the j.lk cross up you will have no problem.

The closest thing that Cammy has to an overhead is delayed TKCS, which beats many low attacks.

none, but for me I find it as an advantage over a lot of people I play. You can force them to get in the habit of blocking everything low and then simply cross up or just jump in with HK for a free combo lol.

why do people choose to tiger knee the light kick version of cannon spike rather than hard kick? is there a benefit from light? asked in the other thread too

ok… now that’s kind of annoying, i could see if you asked in the other thread not realizing that this thread was here… but could you please bother to read before posting? that question was literally asked and answered within the last 7 posts…

Ok so I was on a capcom forum and I saw this sentence…

“maybe because all the good akuma players don’t really play online cause they are leveling up offline that is why he has second in bp with akuma”

What the hell is leveling up offline?
