I had a ton of matches yesterday that basically consisted of destroying dudes in the corner with mixups. It is my favorite part of the game!
Guile was KILLING me, though. No mater what I do to get in, I get wrecked.

Question about Cammy ultra. When I use it to Chip the bar away that last hit of the ultra sometimes won’t hit when they block low. Is this because the hit-boxes off some of the cast are to small? Or because I am standing too far away when starting that ultra?
Bingo, thats exactly why. Some chars you will get the last little bit of chip no matter what on block but most of the cast you won’t if they block low.
I was afraid of that
i have a easy question, what’s a good way to set up a trade cannon-spike in training mode? i want to practice following up my trades.
the other thing i’m having trouble setting up and practicing is the various levels of focus hits in the air, to practice the combo intricacies that arise from that.
question is it possible to tech throws when you use the L,M,H spiral arrow at max distance? Can you use it point blank and if they go for the grab can you still tech the grab because i try it in training mode and i cant figure out if my timing is just off?
sry didnt mean to post in front of another unanswered question
highlulu check this out:

honestly, CS hits more often than trades with a jumping attack… unless its against say Sagats jumping elbow…
all Spiral Arrows are punishable at point blank (on block)… :nono:
for SA to be “safe” cammy needs to hit with the tip of her toes… and that will leave her around sweep distance where throws are not possible…
lol just sounded like a total nood there for a second. I mean if you use M, Hk spiral arrow (which leaves you pretty much in throw range)at the correct distance and your opponent blocks and try to throw can i tech it? Also, If i misspace and just by a little bit and the opponent blocks and tries to grab can I still tech the grab? because I purposely misspaced it a little in training mode but i couldn’t tech the grab. I could when it was spaced properly.
i did tech some grabs with a spaced mk SA, almost never with hk SA
Finally completed Cammy’s trials. Took me a while
Hey guys I have a question, may not be as simple. I’ve sent a fair amount of time messing around with cammy today, and I’m moving on to attempting getting good at her longer combos for one reason or another, but I simply can’t connect spiral arrows after c.short, c.jab, c.short Among other ones that aren’t as practical but look cool. I really can’t pinpoint it, I try to time it by
looking, I try random button presses and seeing of I can find it. The obvious answer is simply practice some more but I’m just wondering if there’s somethig specific to look out for in hitting it. Tnx in advance for any help:)
Hi all, this is my first post. I’m new to SFIV, my last SF game was EX and have always been a pad player. I decided to buy a joystickthis time and I just plain suck with it hoping to improve.
SF4’s combo linking system is a paaain and discouraging at times. I can’t seem to consistently do this BnB on a dummy in training, I’ll never be able to pull it off in a real battle. Are there any tips? My slight pause is never consistent enough so the combo always breaks. The HP bar trick doesn’t work for me either. Sigh.
I read some stuff about plinking, I’m not sure how to put it to use, can it be used here to help?
Please tell me you were all like this at one point in time.
The trick really is that you have to LINK the last two normals. So you can Chain from Low Short to Low Jab, but you have to LINK to the Low Short after that.
So what happens is that you can do the first two moves quickly, but you have to put a pause in between the Low Jab and Low Short to allow you to buffer the Short into the Drill. I do it usually by rhythm. Others do it by sight. Others use audio clues. Some just use pure muscle memory. It’s different for everyone that makes it work best.
The best way to practice it is to use sight FIRST. Basically, as soon as Cammy’s low Jab connects, you can hit Short at ANY POINT UNTIL THE MOVE IS DONE and you’ll cancel the Low Jab into the Low Short. That’s the problem. So a good way to learn it is to watch Cammy’s hand closely, and time your Short press to match the VERY MOMENT she pulls her hand all the way back. You should be able to Combo it, still, AND buffer it into the Drill.
If you can’t get the Drill out, it means you did it too early even though it may not look like it. Try this: do Low Short, Low Jab, and then, just hit Low Forward instead of Low Short. But use the same timing you would if you were going for the combo. Obviously, Low Forward will never connect, but what you are looking for is to see if the Low Forward actually ever comes out!! If it doesn’t come out, you are hitting it too early, and that’s why, when you hit Short, you can’t cancel it into the Drill. Once you get to a timing where the Low Forward actually comes out, go back to Short and keep ever so slightly inching that timing for the Low Short earlier and earlier until the Low Short Combos AND you can buffer into the Drill.
If you need help with the joystick, find the “TE Stick” thread here in the Cammy forums. I’ve written a ton of advice in there for that.
Also, Training Mode and real battle are VERY different if you are playing online. Online lag will cause a lot of Combos to be wonky, ESPECIALLY the BnB’s that require the Low Jab, delay, Low Short stuff. Also, Plinking doesn’t help with this type of combo because Plinking doesn’t work with rapid fire weak attacks. It just takes practice. It’s hard, but you’ll get it down eventually.

me doing bnb… and follow just what James said
Tnx a lot for help from the both of you, I managed to figure it out when James explained how you’re suppose to link the short to arrow and taking that slight pause before you do it. It clicked right away, I may not be super consistant but hey atleast I can do it now :).
I see you barely touch your buttons,i smack mine:chat:
I do too, which is why I need to order some more Sanwa before mine go out
I love BnB combo now that I have it down. Playing random Ryu online today and actually finished him with the last hit of the H SA from a CS BnB combo.
So gratifying
:wgrin:
Any hints on a heavy spiral arrow cancel to super? This one has been giving me troubles for a while, and I just can’t figure out the timing. Meh.
The way i think of it is to do the super motion, but press hardkick after the first quarter circle motion. So qcf+ hk, then another qcf + hk again.
