Cammy Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

sl33p…i think you misunderstood…

F, D, DF + HK= CSpike…then you press mk + mp + F to focus, then another F to dash out…

after this you you wait a second since you have so much time and… F,D,DF again to do the second CSpike

just illustrating a faster way to fadc to the earlier poster

edit

oh…doh!

I missed something in the earlier post

:dp: [+ hk], mk + mp + :r:, :r:

Sorry sl33p! for some reason i thought it was a given

no licks for me…

sl33p: Gee…my bad as well, I also missed the lacking [hk] in Newty’s post. I think the point is taken though…but mea culpa anyways.

We’re still talking about the cspike fadc cspike fadc ultra? I’ll get my video up. Saturday!

Here’s what I do. Cspike MP+MK + ->, ->. On that last forward, I hold it for a second. I actually wait for my character to take a step, then do the second c.spike. Helps me make sure I don’t wiff.

I never realized this, but using a SE stick vs TE stick is really really big when you’re trying to pull off the ultra at the end…

ok phew i thought i was going insane.
I just thought it would actually work because of the lenient input system.

Wish I had a stick, I’m still trying to attempt this on a regular 360 controller.

Do I still get a lick?.. not that I want one or anything…

I’ll try again later. So you do CS, FA+:r:, :r:(dash & the :r: for CS?), :d:, :df:, :r: + HK? Or did I get it wrong?

Here in Jakarta they are holding a SF IV competition, it started yesterday til Sunday. I’ll just drop by to watch, still not good enough to join… Hopefully there will be great Chun-Li & Cammy players

I’m a total noob, but I can pull off the CS FADC CS in training mode (only!) I do it like that:

:dp:, (hold) :mp:+:mk:, :r:,:r: (dash), (release :mp:+:mk:), :d:, :df:, :hk:

Somehow, I can do it much slower than in the videos and it still connects. And I find it easier to think of DP as F, QCF and an early kick. I Pretty much just do a QCF, hk after dashing. In real games I do it with normal dashes, can’t combo for shit online!

I took 3 weeks to be able to dp well enough to use it in online matches. :lame:

I will post a video later just for kicks! :shy:
Is there a way to embed videos?

Sagat, I hate sagat, tigershot spam kills me… big and easy to hit though

If you look at the input you can see that my execution is a mess… XD

Ryu, at the last few seconds you can do the FADC slowly and it will still work.

We’ll wait for the videos! Currently I’m still mastering it in training first. Then try it in matches. I guess it will be like comboing Chun-Li’s tenshokyaku into ultra, in versus it usually misses because of bad timing ^^;;;

lol big hype for my stuff tomorrow

Okay guys, I finally got someone to record me doing the combo.

So here it is:

If you guys want to download the file as an MP4, http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BE3KBVDG

I’m not too good with video editing, but if you guys want to make the video file in slow motion, go right ahead. It would be great if you could upload it to youtube and post it as a video response.

CS FADC CS is fairly easy on stick…

the motion i use:

F, D, DF, F+HK , F+MK+MP (this is the first part of it = CS into FADC, note that i press forward with the dragon punch motion at the end… and another forward for the MK+MP, so i dont double tap forward… i do it only once… i finished the Ken Hard Trail 4 using this method "HP dragon punch, FADC, into Mk dragon punch, into ultra)

hold the last forward for a bit… then preform antoher normal CS

F, D, DF+HK (you have alot of time to do it)

i hope this helps

(i dont know if this was mentioned before, its quite a long thread :stuck_out_tongue: )

Thanks for that! Might try and record myself doing the same motions and compare vidoes so I can see where I’m going wrong

I can do the CS FADC CS but sometimes still miss them. Is it right that I dash forward and hit them with the 2nd CS when they almost reach the ground (around waist height I think)?

But the for CS FADC Ultra I still can’t do it. I dash backward back then fail to do the ultra. If I try too fast it ends up as EX CS.

The thing with :qcf::qcf: (split second delay to neutral position) + :3k: really helps me

And I just found out (probably really late) how to actually perform SA into Super. Turned out that I didn’t need another :qcf:

Just :qcf: + HK, :qcf: + HK. Like trying to do :qcf::qcf: + HK but slipping one SA in it.

Hey guys, quick question.

I’ve noticed that I’ll get destroyed by people who can on reaction DP or really know how to use Focus attacks.

What I do now, is if my opponent does a FA, I’ll jump in and throw, or jump in and ULTRA! If my opponent does a DP, then I have to resort to poking and random FA. Still, I really suck at the ground based game. What’s the best method for poking and getting in for the good combos against a Ryu player who can DP on reaction? Is it just Cr MK (hit confirm) SA?

some of my methods to close in

without ex
walk / dash
lk.SA
lp.SBF over fireballs

with ex
ex.hooligan cancel in the middle so that the DP will whiff
jump back ex.cstrike
ex.SA under fireballs

anymore ?

Well, this is really a problem for Cammy when fighting shotos…since practically any average fighter can DP on reaction in this game as there aren’t ways like IADs or hyper hops to get to your opponent.

I end up doing footsies in general to get closer without doing much risky things. Specifically for Ryu, I personally find I do EX SA if I’m far and -much less commonly- EX Hooligan when he gets predictable. Once I get in, I follow what mostly seems to be the consensus here – try my best to stay in.

I find that footsies are hard to do with Balrog and other characters with god pokes.

You may have to fight any instinct to do the 2nd CS as soon as possible. You’re right that you can still do it when they almost hit the ground. I personally hold the forward button after the FADC until I actually see her walk a teensy bit then complete the cannon spike motion. At least, I think that’s what is going on in my head when I do it.

The ultra on the otherhand is done as soon as possible unless you are near the corner. The timing for the ultra is actually easier since you don’t have to wait until the correct moment to pull it off, but the execution is just slight harder. As you practice, this should be negligible I imagine. Personally, I’m not able to pull this often in matches because I developed a habit of dashing forward in FA combos for her CS FADC CS.

Yeah, I kinda have the habit of doing the 2nd CS asap… I’m working on it.

So for the ultra I have to do it right away? Hmm… Looks like I’ll need to hit training again for a week or so to make sure those 2 can be done.

Was rewatching DjB13’s tutorial vids and tried to do this mix-up in Part 6:

Its mix-up 6 at about 4:20, can that be done on anyone but Viper?! In training I’ve only landed the HK Cannon Strike cross-up on Viper, whiffs against Ryu every time (although if I set the dummy to auto-block, it blocks the cross-up, if block is turned off, the hit whiffs…). Am I doing something wrong?
