as for the finals… yeah i basically resigned myself to having the beast win again when justin got upset by vangief and gamerbee. not to insult ricky or anyone else that was still in winners top 8, it’s just daigo’s play is on an entirely different level.

Went 4-2 in Pool M, lost to Lord BBH (somehow got an Ultra when I put in an EX Spike - loving inputs in this game) but props to BBH for winning an even matchup for sure (he used Bison). I played BT in a Cammy mirror and barely came out on top. It was a good ass match, would’ve liked to record it definitely. I think it helped that he had just come off a different Cammy mirror, lol.
Then I had the pleasure of running into Eita, who bodied me first match and I came close to winning the second match but he used a very slick kara-Demon on my attempt to punish his st hk whiff with cr lk xx arrow. Felt like I should’ve been out of pools.
As far as money matches go, I beat FChamp 4-3 (he used Rog and Sim - his Rog is actually pretty solid, makes sense since he knows how to control space extremely well) and Hiro 3-2 (Best Blanka I’ve played). I also got bodied by Mike Ross 3-1 and Keno annihilated me 4-0 with his Rog (sucks that he plays Cammy - he knew how to punish everything PERFECTLY). I also lost a close one to Air 2-3, had a bunch of match points and couldn’t put it together. Oh well, next time.
Met JChensor who is really chill. Would’ve liked to get some matches but the opportunity never came, dude was mad busy helping out. Good stuff JChen.
Solid weekend, would’ve gone to Salty Suite if I didn’t have to pay to get in, no matter though. Had fun, will do better next year if I go. Only frustrating thing was how long it took to get a match haha.
Gotta love double posts. Actually, I’ll use this - since Evo is over, I’ll probably take a bit of time to alt Ibuki to compliment my Cammy. Guile’s just too different.

^wow so your the one who made Air wary to MM against me when I said cammy. He said he really didn’t know the match, I sort of felt bad abusing quick jump LK strikes to bait dP. That dude adjusts really quick, in a FT10 he I very well have been downloaded but I won 3-1. I played JS master’s Rog and got swept that guy is VERY solid, I beat two other Toronto Guys (Dave and Teddy) 2-0 and 3-1 respectivly. I had a bunch of other MM’s with people who wanted a MM in my pools and a lot of random people I just challeneged. MMs are tight.

I had so much fun at this. It was a blast meeting Faux123 and Jchensor. I really wish we had time to get some casuals going, but either way, I was pleased to simply have run into some new faces.
Evo was unbelievable. If I can, I -will- be back next year. This event is just too… incredible to pass up.
And now I have a stick! And I SUCK! It’s like having to re-learn Cammy a second time. Ugh. Well, either way, stick is looking more precise, much to my surprise. Ugh.
Either way, EVO was beautiful. Props to Jchen for running the livestream commentary and helping out at the event. Hope I can meet the rest of the Killer Bees somewhere down the road!

Final 8 were anti-climatic… The road to final 8 on Saturday was so much more exciting than the final 8.
Ricky counter picked with Chun against Vangief was sad, GamerBee’s loss to Mike Ross was sad, then Daigo easily handled Ricky’s Rufus was sad… All of these matches were lop sided to the winner.
I missed Sanford’s exciting C.Viper and possible Cammy play…
What about Ricky versus Infiltration? That shit was so hot!
i’m sure at Evo 2k11 we’ll be seeing a lot more killer bees stomping people.

GamerBee vs Mike Ross and Infiltration vs Ricky were good matches. both went down to do final game and final round.
I think Vangief, Mike Ross, and Shizza never see this type of Rush down Akuma before. they were mind fucked. Vangief was just stand there in the first round of the first game. Infiltration just jumped at him with dive kick and took like 30% of gief life in first 5 secs.

people said Poongko won’t do good in US tournaments. I think he can do pretty well with just rush down. Infiltration’s result is a good example. Poongko probably still can’t beat J. Wong.

Yeah, there just aren’t akumas here who are on the same level, so it’s not surprising for them to have had difficulty with the matchup. I was really surprised that tokido got knocked out earlier as well, honestly.
Also yeah, admittedly every time Sanford walked up I was just like please pick cammy please pick cammy
do you guys notice Tokido and Infiltration pick u2 against Rufus? i think it might work for cammy u2 too. i tried it online. it kind of works because all online rufus try to finish ex massiah with something.
against pros it maybe able to catch them off guard for atleast one game.
Yeah, rufus is one of the few characters that it’s potentially worthwhile against. As for whether or not it’d be a better option than U1, it’d take someone far more competent than I to really weigh all the pros and cons, but there’s at least some degree of rationale behind it.
I wish Infiltration used U2 against Ricky. Shit would be so cash.
