Cammy EVO 2K10 Thread

aw… stream is down for minute… James is definitely pimping out cammy… i appreciate it… good shit to all my killer bee brethren… i got assigned to morning pool A but sadly couldn’t make it… anyone know who woulda been my concern from that pool?.. normally alotta good american players are put into the first pool to avoid clashes with the japanese players who are normally put into the last pool… but that’s assumption

omg i watched the semi from beginning to end… my GOD! it was full of surprises…

you guys remember GamerBee, INSANE ADON… (sako struggled against his adon)…

i cant believe what i just saw…

and it was disheartening to see how sanford got disqualified… was it stick malfunction or he pressed the pause button on purpose?? i still dont know cause the same thing happened AGAIN with the same guy he was fighting later on… im not sure if it was on purpose… :wasted:

bottom line they gave sanford a single round to fight for his life… 1 round… i was like WTF is going on!!!

Bummer about Sanford. That Gamerbee and Justin match was crazy. Looks like we had better learn the Adon match up because we’re going to see a lot of them from here on in.

Right after my matches I stayed and watched the semis for HD remix then ssf4. The semis were very entertaining to watch in person. The hype was overwhelming. I am glad I was there, the experience was worthy the trip by itself.

About Sanford DQ is like this:
Sanford accidentally mapped a button to 3p but he didn’t realize it until mid game but once he found out he paused it to try to rectify it but of course it is an auto DQ. Then the game resumed but ther were confusion whether or not the DQ was acknowledged by both players so Sanford paused it thw second time to clear up the confusion. By the time all the issues were resolved Sanford was down 1 match and 1 round so he had 1 round to turn it around but it didn’t pan out for him. Sucks that the button checks weren’t thourough enough while they were waiting on deck. Lesson learned make sure of ur button assignments carefully don’t just rush in.

The second time it was a 1P pause. As far as I know, Sanford was 2P.

Anyhow, no Cammy in sight. How I wish Sako would move his japanese ass from home and went to Evo.

And by the way… The Adon dick-riding is nothing to worry about. Only scrubs dick-ride. And they all suck no matter the character. Adon isn’t an easy character to play with. He’s still mid-tier. It was just a good matchup for him, and jwong has the right to play like shit once in a while. Specially when he gets his ass whooped in a fashionly manner. Leave the boy alone.

On another note: there is only 1 beastly cammy player in the world that’s known right now, and that’s sako. Everyone else is average. And I’m not talking “below him” good. I’m talking AVERAGE.

Alex Valle is “below” Daigo. But Alex Valle is anything but average. He’s Mr.Street Fighter.

AuLord, Sanford, and even Jwong? They’re all average with cammy. Just like warahk and lamerboi are average with guile. “But dude, Lamerboi is totally awesome, he beat really good players!”. I blame that on the fact that Guile is piss easy and increadibly balanced. Even I play him well. It’s no biggie.
After watching Fujisawa, Yazu, and a few others… It’s hard to consider the current US guile players anything decent. They barely even do a hit confirm properly when they have a chance too, let alone cancel into super (again… when they have a chance too). They let that shit pass by because the only thing they know is the guile basics.

You can win with Ryu and not even use FADC into ultra (John Choi proved that when he first started playing SF4). And the same thing applies to Guile. Except those guys don’t have the knowledge that John Choi have about Street Fighter. They simply know Guile’s basics, and it’s enough. Not that they have to do “something flashy”, but they’re definitely not “Top Guile” material. Any japanese player, regarding that matter, would simply rape them.

On another note, I loved watching shizza get beaten. Tired of all the pad players succeeding. But that’s just me being a stick-biased prick

interesting perspective… yeah i remember it was p1 that paused the second time… and the same player PAUSED AGAIN in his next match… (makes u wonder what actually happened during his match with Sanford!!, im just saying :xeye:!! )

now about beastly Cammys… i would rank Alioune up there… he plays an awesome awesome cammy…

Yeah we know

lol finally got internet in my room.

My first loss was to Ricky Ortiz. I could have won the match and played B0kkin and the winner would play Tatsu on stream for making it out of pools in winners. The difference between beating Ricky was walk up throw and walk up Cr. HP or walk up DP fadc. Instead I went for throw and he did instant dive kick into lk -> hk -> ultra… lol I had a nice life lead and thought walk up throw would be safe. He had no meter for ex messiah.

Then I lost to Joon, not quite as bad as B0kkin did but lost. James Chen afterwards told me the secret to beating him… oh well. Going over the bracket I think I took 5th place in the pool. So… top 80?

Kind of sucks, up until Ricky O. I hadn’t even lost a round…

Lots of alcohol has been consumed.

It was cool meeting up with you guys, Faux I’ll try to give you a call tomorrow to meet up.

Stein - I didn’t get to see you on the LiveStream. Gosh darn shame

So. Daigo won with Ryu. OH MY GOD HOW EXCITING IS THAT!!!

am i the only person that was expecting sanford to switch to cammy? honestly it looked in the second game like he was upset that he couldn’t character change. confusing situation all around, i wanted to see that top 32 cammy action.

Damn, was wondering how Stein did. Sucks he just barely missed pools, would have loved to see some Cammy in semis.

Then I played Ricky, That was a fun match. I won the first match by basically dP’ing every jump in and hooligan shenanigans into 50/50’s on wake up into arrow. I got 2 stuns and I got the first match…the next match…I got knocked down…I lost…I clutched (scrubbed?) out the second round of 2nd match with a mash dP->fadc->ultra into the mk arrow->instant air HK strike->cHP->cMK->arrow setup.

The Last match I got the first round, got demolished second round and the last round was crazy. So he gets a knockdown, takes 50% of my life, I panic and use ex spin knuckle to get out. He misses the sweep punish and I get a Knock down on him taking him to around 70%. We dance around start screen I backdash and do 2 tkcs to build meter every now and then and about the third time he dash forward cHP me to bring me to an uncomfortable 40%. I take some risks and get cMP and ex SS into about 10% and he jumps (thank god) I dp->fadc->ultra with the MK arrow mix up again but this time I do a MK strike and get a combo brining him to about 15%. We dance some more, He galatics for chip and I froze and just blocked, I instant air dive kick he cMP so I’m at 3% ish. I get a jump back HK and he’s at 5-6%. we dance some more at about start range. I notice he’s just pressing cHP to irk me out but he’s pressing it a ton. I also remeber him cMP’ing my jump ins. I walk in at about max range for his cHP and try for a medium height HK strike. I figured if he throws cHP I’ll get a counter hit and cMK->arrow for the win. If he trys to cMP I will whiff punish with cMK->arrow for the win…unfortunatley he instant nuetral jump HK and it killed me. I was sad but not mad, it is Ricky.

Then I played Joon, got raped by safe jumps and throw baits. and ended up 4th in my pool, dissapointed but not too salty. I tied for 54th I think. I used akuma twice in the tournament but otherwise a record of 6-2 with 90% cammy, sucks I only really met up with Stein. Best believe I’ll get out of pools next year.

And the secret to beating Joon would’ve been very useful…Jchen…where are you BEFORE my match lol.

I don’t care how many times I watch Daigo, I can fall in love with that man and his game.

I don’t care how many times I watch Daigo, I can fall in love with that man and his game.

honestly i think u2 get’s underestimated a lot because on paper it isn’t that great. but in practice against good players it will stop them from using certain things, in ken’s case his most deadly weapons (safe jump os oki pressure). while cammy’s dp is good it’s not nearly as good at stopping oki pressure as u2 is.

btw bokkin when you say that you combo u1 then mk arrow mixup… wtf are you talking about there? all of a sudden i feel like i’m missing a mixup lol

Just would’ve been nice for a new person and a new character to win this year, that’s all.

I went 2-2 (2 actual wins, then +1 bye +1 person that got DQ’ed for not being there [4-2]?) … I just need to get better… but I am satisfied that I didn’t go 0-2.

I have to agree there. This evo wasn’t really satisfying because everybody knew that Daigo was going to win. Watching a match with the outcome already known isn’t as satisfying as a match where the winner could’ve been anyone. I would’ve been happier (even if Daigo won), had ricky challenged Daigo more and pushed it into a second set.

After dP->FADC->ultra you do MK arrow to get next to them (and serves as a timing thing) and do a slightly delayed HK TKCS and it skips through their body with enough time for you to do a meaty. or you can do instant air strike as meaty.
