Cammy Combos and Glitches

The first one is ok, relying on J.HK is not the greatest idea though.

The second one is user preference. It is a linking combo, so it’s difficult to pull off, but it’s probably worth it in the long run although I usually do cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.lk XX SA, or cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.lk XX SA. You might want to get S.HP xx CSpike FADC CSpike down as it’s pretty easy to do and does a ton of damage.

The first one i use against fireballs, like i get in right range and try to lure a fireball.
If they do one i jump over and do the combo, but your idd right its dangerous (and other combo you posted does more damage).
Ill stick with cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.lk XX SA and S.HP xx CSpike FADC CSpike for now then

Cammy’s combos do a good deal of damage.

Michael

I did not know you can link cammy’s hooligan slide into cannon spike as a combo, i pulled if off yesterday on a sagat midscreen by accident in a friendly match and we both just stopped playing for a few mins out of the sheer surprise…was a total surprise.

i think i found the first glitch. (and it’s a bad one if anything)

so i was practicing falvl2, backdash, hooligan(slide), ultra

and i keep getting “super”. so i was wondering wtf is wrong with my ability to push 3 buttons.

i put “show inputs” on. and i try it again, and it shows me pushing all 3kicks, but super is coming out. so wtf? (and yes, i have ultra bar available)

i’ll upload a vid later, unless someone knows already why this happens.

edit:

http://daigoumehara.blogspot.com/ what’s with the comments about jwong talking shit about daigo and fake names of top players adding drama?

Are you sure you’re not canceling the slide into super? I’m sure you’re not waiting until the slide is done. This sounds like the problem that people have when trying to do backfist -> ultra.

oh, you’re right. haha thanks.

(won’t matter in a real match, i’ll not likely have super and ultra up at the same time.)

but that was annoying as shit in training mode. thx for the response.

Allen, that blog isn’t Daigo it’s some guy in the US that is a daigo fanboy. Daigo doesn’t even know how to speak english.

yea i figured it was something like that. didnt’ have time to look at the site throughly. saw the blog and was like “wtf is this?”

I noticed that most higher level Cammy’s tend to do TK Strike -> Cl. FP -> Cspike after a connected focus in the video thread (when they don’t have Ultra of course). Normally, I do cr. FP -> cr. fw -> HK SA. Is there something I’m missing here? Is it just because of the setup’s that the spike offers? Or is there a different reason?

answered ur own question

one is a cancel combo, the other is a link combo. If you’re comfortable with the link combo (especially online), and you’re not planning on FADCing (cuz you don’t have the meter…), then the c.fp>c.mk>h.sa is indeed more damage. Just keep in mind that if you can’t hit the link well enough, you can be the recipient of a nasty counter and possibly lose a match you would have otherwise won if you went with the cancel combo instead (not that that happened to me…) If you’re planning on using meter, then the fp>spike>FADC>Spike is your goto pain train.

in related news, got a combo (jump kick, fierce, double spike + full ultra combo) to do 630 to Ryu midscreen. I’m guessing I just got the right timing for more hits from the ultra juggle. It is the new high I’ve done though. I’ve had this same combo vary from I think it was like 580 to 609 to 617, to 620 something and now 630. It appears to correlate with whether they’re midscreen or in the corner, and a precise ultra timing.

I love the cr. HP -> cr. MK link. I tend to use it as part of a combo, but if cr.HP gets blocked, I’ll throw out the cr.MK anyway since it will hit more often than not, in my experience. Players who don’t know Cammy well don’t expect the cr.MK, since they think I’m done after using j.HK -> cr.HP.

Does anyone link cr. mk -> Hard Drill xx Super on reaction? Like, when you’re just trying to poke someone and it connects. I usually get in a few cr. mk’s a match but I can never react fast enough to realize it connected and then hit the drill and the Super if I have it. I’m asking because I’m trying to find more opportunities to use my Super. I was playing yesterday and noticed that I was sitting on Super trying to find the spot to use it. It’s a real bad habit of mine because it changes the way I play just because I’m waiting on the only 1 shot I have to use the thing when I should be using a few ex moves and maybe a Focus Cancel.

I do that combo usually by accident. It’s a nice, damaging & simple combo, though I try to save my super meter for EX moves. EX hooligan is too good to pass up, at least for me anyway.

EX hooligan is definitely nice but I’m starting to face a lot more people who know Cammy. They’re just constantly crouching. I mostly use the EX Cannon Strike. I love jumping back and then coming right in on them with the EX Strike. I get a lot of people running forward into it which leaves me to get a nice combo.

You can get a ton of damage out of FADC and you really need bar to deal with fireballs. I dont remember the last time I used my super :open_mouth:

I use my super all the time…usually because I get 4 bars then use it by accident when doing a cannon spike or spiral arrow :frowning:

If I do want to use my super I usually add it on the end of LK, LP, Cr. LK, HK Spiral Arrow (or something similar).

If you’re quick enough, you can usually grab them with a normal throw immediately after a failed hooligan. I like the EX hooligan more for its ability to close distance than to grab opponents with, although I won’t complain if I land it.

well that’s usually what I do because right before I get to my opponent in mid air, I’m spamming the grab buttons lol. I’ve played a few experienced people who will crouch and jab from across the stage just in case you throw the hooligan out. I’ve gone for the EX hooligan and have had it fall short but then went for the throw again had them cancel out because the other guy went for the throw too. Then I’ve had the other guy throw me as soon as my hooligan falls short. I think that may be due to lag though.

I’m noticing that as I rank up in G2, I have to be WAY more selective when I throw out the hooligan, especially the EX one. I played a match where I didn’t use any hooligan at all, then for the very last attack of the match I threw it out and got it for the win. The guy wasn’t expecting it at all.
